LOS ANGELES - Barenaked Ladies are celebrating three decades of music this year with a summer tour and special edition of their most successful album, Stunt. The band, which was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame this year, was also honored on during a ceremony at the Juno Awards.

STUNT: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION features several bonus tracks along with a DVD that includes the 1999 documentary about the band's Stunt tour directed by long-time fan Jason Priestly, titled Barenaked In America. This documentary features nearly 90 minutes of live performances and behind-the-scenes footage. Until now, the film has been unavailable on DVD in North America.

STUNT: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION  CD/DVD set ($29.98) and double-LP ($31.98) set will be available on September 28. The music will also be available digitally and via streaming services on July 6.

Barenaked Ladies originally released their fourth and most successful studio album, Stunt, in July 1998. Stunt peaked at #3 on the Billboard. The album reached platinum status four times in both the US and Canada, and was certified gold in the UK. This year, band will celebrate their 30th Anniversary on October 1, 2018.

The album's first single, "One Week," was a breakthrough for the Canadian band in America, hitting #1 on the singles chart. The single sold more than five million copies and earned them a Grammy ® nomination. Other standout tracks from the hit album include: "It's All Been Done," "Call And Answer," and "Light Up My Room." The band recorded "Alcohol" completely naked, continuing a tradition it started with its first album, Gordon. STUNT: 20TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION includes three bonus songs: the album outtakes "She's On Time" and "Long Way Back Home," plus "Get In Line," which originally appeared on the King Of The Hill Soundtrack. The vinyl version of this collection includes all the bonus tracks except "Get In Line."

The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers: The Complete Recordings

Limited-Edition Boxed Sets Available From Rhino Starting On July 27

LOS ANGELES - The Lord of the Rings is one of most successful trilogies in film history. Directed by Peter Jackson and based on the popular J.R.R. Tolkien novel of the same name, The Lord of the Rings earned a total of 17 Academy Awards ®, including three for the music featured in the films. The music from The Lord of the Rings enjoyed wide commercial success and has collectively sold seven million copies.

Rhino will once again return to Middle-earth on July 27 with the second soundtrack from the Trilogy. THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS - THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS will be released on vinyl for the first time as a 5-LP boxed set ($119.98). Housed in a collector's box with a blue leather-style spine, the collection is limited to 8,000 individually numbered copies on blue vinyl. The soundtrack will also be available as a 3-CD disc set ($79.98), plus 1 Blu-ray audio disc containing high-resolution 5.1 and stereo mixes of the entire score, a reactivation of the 2006 box set featuring the entire score from the extended versions of the film. Both versions come with extensive liner notes from author Doug Adams, who analyzes many of the themes and motifs used throughout the score.

The music for all three films was composed, orchestrated and conducted by Howard Shore. The music he wrote for The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers was performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra with contributions from the choirs: the London Voices and the London Oratory School Schola boy's choir. The album was certified gold in the U.S., the U.K. and Canada and won the Grammy Award ® for Best Score Soundtrack Album.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE TWO TOWERS - THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS is the second of in a series of three releases that includes The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003) on color vinyl for the first time. More information on the final release in the series will be available at a later date.

There's probably never been as ambitious a film score as Howard Shore's 10-hour epic for the "Lord of the Rings" series... the music is rich and complex, drawing on a vast range of styles and exotic instruments to evoke J.R.R. Tolkien's world of elves, hobbits and warlocks. But it's more than just background music: Shore uses an elaborate leitmotif technique (where musical themes are associated with specific characters or ideas, and are developed across the entire series) to hold the sprawling tale together. LOS ANGELES - David Bowie released two classic studio albums between 1978 and 1982 (Lodger and Scary Monsters [And Super Creeps]) as well as a wealth of work for film, television, and more. Bowie also found time to embark upon a massive world tour, documented by the double live album Stage, and embark on two acclaimed projects for film and television. On June 29, Parlophone will revisit that prolific period with Welcome To The Blackout (Live London '78), as well as two special vinyl reissues exclusively for "brick and mortar" retail stores: Christiane F. - Wir Kinder Von Bahnoff Zoo and David Bowie In Bertolt Brecht's Baal.

The new releases begin with the CD and digital debut of Welcome To The Blackout (Live London '78). This live album features performances recorded at Earl's Court in London on June 30 and July 1, 1978 during Bowie's "Isolar II" Tour. The music was released earlier this year on vinyl as a strictly limited-edition triple-LP set for Record Store Day 2018.  

Tony Visconti, who produced more than a dozen albums for Bowie throughout his career, recorded the 1978 concert which was later mixed by Bowie and David Richards. The set naturally focuses on songs from the two albums Bowie released in 1977 - Low and "Heroes" as well as other earlier career highlights such as "Fame," Ziggy Stardust," "The Jean Genie," Station To Station," and the first ever live performance of "Sound And Vision." Welcome To The Blackout (Live London '78) will be available as a two-CD set as well as digitally for download and streaming in both standard and high-definition versions.
 
Christiane F. - Wir Kinder Von Bahnoff Zoo is the soundtrack to the 1981 film based on the 1978 autobiography by German actress Christiane Vera Felscherinow. The soundtrack incorporates songs from several Bowie albums, including "Stay" (Station To Station, 1976), "Warszawa" (Low, 1977) "V-2 Schneider" ("Heroes," 1977), and "Look Back In Anger" (Lodger, 1979.) Released on vinyl for the first time in 30 years, this fan favorite will be pressed on limited edition red vinyl and available exclusively at "brick and mortar" retail stores.

David Bowie In Bertolt Brecht's Baal features Bowie performing five songs that were written for German playwright Bertolt Brecht's 1918 play "Baal." Bowie recorded this EP with Visconti at Hansa Studios in Berlin in November 1981. Recently, all five songs were re-released as part of the exclusive Re:Call 3 compilation that accompanied the boxed set A New Career In A New Town (1977-1982). This new limited edition 10" vinyl reissue comes in a six-panel sleeve that replicates the original 1982 packaging and is available exclusively at "brick and mortar" retail stores.

CHICAGO II: LIVE ON SOUNDSTAGE

Originally released in January 1970 as Chicago (and later dubbed Chicago II ), the album was a major breakthrough for the band and features some of the group's biggest hits, including the Top 10 singles: "25 Or 6 To 4," "Make Me Smile" and "Colour My World."

Nominated for three Grammy awards and certified double-platinum, the album is also known for several extended song cycles: "Ballet For A Girl In Buchannon" by trombonist/composer James Pankow; "Memories Of Love" by guitarist Terry Kath and composer Peter Matz; and "It Better End Soon" by keyboardist/vocalist/composer Robert Lamm. Robert Lamm and James Pankow have also become the latest inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017.

Classic Album O To Be Released On Vinyl For The First Time

Double-LP Will Be Available On June 1 From Rhino

LOS ANGELES - Rhino will release an expanded double-LP version of Damien Rice's album O on June 1.

This is the first time O will be available on vinyl and this extended 16-track edition includes four additional recordings: "The Professor & La Fille Danse" and "Moody Mooday," which were both originally b-sides to the "The Blower's Daughter"; "Lonelily," which appeared also appeared alongside the track "Moody Mooday" as a limited edition 7" single in 2004; and "Woman Like A Man," which was recorded live in a session at Galway Bay FM and was the lead track for the song's single release.

"Prague" and "Silent Night" (featuring Lisa Hannigan), which were hidden bonus tracks after the album's closing song "Eskimo," are also included in this release.

O, originally released in the summer of 2002, was one of the last albums to build a true word-of-mouth following before widespread streaming. The Guardian wrote, "Rice's personality and deft songwriting hoist him above the mass of bedsit mumblers... at its best, O is gorgeous and understated, never too introverted to include a lovely melody."

Three singles were released from O: "The Blower's Daughter" in 2001, followed by "Cannonball" and "Volcano" in 2002, with many other tracks from the album being audience favorites and mainstays of Rice's live set, notably "Delicate," and "I Remember."
 
The Deluxe (Limited Edition) version comprises two 180g hand-numbered LPs housed in a bespoke, cloth bound, hardback book and comes complete with lyrics, a full color booklet of the original O artwork and the four additional tracks.
