OF THEIR PARLOPHONE STUDIO ALBUMS

Reissues Out March 2 From Rhino

LOS ANGELES - Pet Shop Boys will release the third set of albums in their definitive CATALOGUE: 1985-2012 series of reissues of all their Parlophone studio albums. This third set sees the PSB albums Please from 1986, Actually from 1987 and 1988's Introspective, and will be reissued on March 2. The albums have been remastered and repackaged, and will be accompanied by "further listening" albums of master quality bonus tracks - including demos, extended mixes and remixes of tracks from the albums and others created in the same period as each record.

The three albums will be packaged with an extensive booklet in which Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe discuss each song, illustrated with many archive photographs. The entire project is designed by Farrow.

Please was the debut album by Pet Shop Boys and produced by Stephen Hague. Released in March 1986, the album hit Billboard's Top Ten, was certified Platinum, and has sold over three million copies worldwide. Comprising of ten tracks in its original release, the album's track-listing includes the duo's debut single "West End Girls" - PSB's first number one single in the USA. Singles "Love Comes Quickly," "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots Of Money)" and "Suburbia" are also featured on Please. The CATALOGUE: 1985-2012 re-issue of the album features a remastered and repackaged vinyl and double CD, featuring 7" and 12" mixes and remixes of tracks from Please and the album's period.

In 1987, Pet Shop Boys released their second album Actually. The album was produced by Julian Mendelsohn, Stephen Hague, Shep Pettibone, Andy Richards and Pet Shop Boys. This period saw Pet Shop Boys reach new critical and commercial heights and included singles, "It's A Sin," "Always On My Mind And Heart," and "What Have I Done To Deserve This," their single featuring Dusty Springfield which climbed to number two on the US singles chart. The CATALOGUE: 1985-2012 re-issue of Actually includes the remastered original album, with the 2-CD version featuring bonus material including the Shep Pettibone mix of "Heart," and demo versions and alternative mixes of tracks including "One More Chance" and "Always On My Mind."

Also remastered, repackaged and re-issued as part of the CATALOGUE: 1985-2012 is Pet Shop Boys' 1988 release Introspective. This album has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide to date and was the first to feature production by Trevor Horn, whose lavish orchestrations marked a new sonic direction for PSB. House music legend Frankie Knuckles created the mix of "I Want A Dog," while "Domino Dancing" was recorded in Miami with hit producer Lewis Martinée. Introspective also saw Pet Shop Boys introduce a new approach to the format of an album and its respective singles: each of the 6 tracks on the album's original track-listing is over six minutes in length, and they were later edited to fit the more traditional format of a seven-inch single. The CATALOGUE: 1985-2012 re-issue features, along with the newly-remastered original album, bonus material such as demo versions of "Don Juan" and "Domino Dancing," seven-inch and disco mixes of "Losing My Mind" and "Left To My Own Devices."

The CATALOGUE: 1985-2012 reissue series began earlier this year on July 28 with the release of Nightlife, Release, and Fundamental, followed by re-issues of Yes and Elysium, which were released on October 20. The series will continue until all PSB Parlophone albums have been released with "further listening" albums:

Behaviour/Further listening: 1990-1991
Very/Further listening: 1992-1994
Bilingual/Further listening: 1995-1997

The reissues of Please, Actually, Introspective, Behaviour, Very, and Bilingual were originally released with bonus "further listening" albums in 2001 and are being newly remastered with their original track-listings for these projects.

Otis Redding Celebration At The Apollo Theater Scheduled For Grammy® Week

LOS ANGELES - It was 50 years ago today - November 22, 1967 - that Otis Redding recorded "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay." It would become the singer's only song to reach #1 on both the R&B and pop charts. Sadly, that milestone was reached just months after Redding had passed away in a plane crash. Today, the melancholy ballad with its signature whistled outro remains one of the most beloved songs in music history and the cornerstone of Redding's hugely influential catalog. The track continues to transcend generations, holding the distinction of being one of a handful of songs from the '60s to have over 100 million streams on Spotify.

Rhino will reissue "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" as a 7" single on January 9, which is one day after the 50th anniversary of the song's original release date. Pressed on gold vinyl to mark the golden anniversary, the single will be available for $7.98. A detailed reproduction of the original mono single, it features the b-side "Sweet Lorene," is branded as a Volt release, and comes in a die-cut sleeve like those used by Atlantic Records, which distributed Stax/Volt Records at the time.

This single includes the rare, original version of the song, which is shorter and with Redding's vocals noticeably lower in the mix. This original version was quickly pulled after a brief release and replaced with the version that the world has known ever since. This anniversary 7-inch marks the first time the original version has appeared on vinyl since the initial release in 1968.

The Otis Redding Foundation is pleased to announce An Evening of Respect: Celebrating Otis Redding & 50 Years of "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" on Thursday, January 25th at the legendary Apollo Theater in New York City. The benefit show will be hosted by Whoopi Goldberg and feature performances by the Dap-Kings and very special guests. The event will feature a pre-show cocktail reception fundraiser for the Otis Redding Foundation. Tickets go on sale next Tuesday, November 28th at Ticketmaster.com with a special American Express pre-sale starting today.

The upcoming single is the first of several releases Rhino is planning to celebrate the 50th anniversary of "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay." Additionally, The Definitive Studio Albums Collection, a seven-LP vinyl boxed set features mono mixes for all of Redding's studio albums, from 1964's Pain In My Heart to 1968's Dock Of The Bay, is due out on December 15.

Today, the timeless appeal of "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" continues to transcend generations and genres, with Rolling Stone ranking it #26 on their "500 Greatest Songs Of All Time" and Pitchfork calling it "as immortal a song as R&B ever produced." The list of artists who have covered or remixed the song through the decades is as long as it is diverse and includes everyone from Michael Bolton to Pearl Jam and Justin Timberlake to Sergio Mendes.

NEW LEAD SINGER JEFF GUTT

New Single “Meadow” Is Available Now

Last Night’s Concert At The Troubadour Will Air Friday Exclusively On SiriusXM

Album To Be Released Spring 2018

LOS ANGELES – At a private show last night in Los Angeles, Stone Temple Pilots made its triumphant return to the stage at the Troubadour where the Grammy®-winning group welcomed Jeff Gutt as their new lead singer.

Gutt (pronounced goot) is a veteran of the Detroit music scene and has spent the last year writing and recording with founding members Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz. In addition to introducing Gutt, the concert also featured the debut of the new Stone Temple Pilots single “Meadow.” Available now via digital and streaming services, the song will appear on the band’s as-yet-untitled album, which will be released on Atlantic/Rhino in spring 2018 in conjunction with a North American tour. Click here to listen to “Meadow” now.

Stone Temple Pilots announced their new lead singer on SiriusXM’s Volume channel 106 during a special broadcast, “Stone Temple Pilots Reborn,” from the Troubadour in Los Angeles on November 14. The complete concert will premiere this Friday, November 17 at 5 p.m. ET exclusively on SiriusXM and can be heard on Howard Stern’s Howard 101 channel, as well as Lithium (channel 34). The show will also be available via the SiriusXM app and online at www.siriusxm.com.

This show marks the beginning of a new journey for the band, one that began last year when the DeLeo brothers and Kretz launched a worldwide search for a new singer with whom to write, record, and tour.

“We wanted someone who would not only do our earlier songs justice, but would also write new songs and carve out a different path forward with us. It took some time, but we found our guy,” Dean explained.

Before choosing Gutt, the trio received and reviewed about 15,000 submissions online before selecting more than 30 singers to audition in person with the group at Studio 606 in Los Angeles. Gutt sang with the band on the last day of auditions. Ironically, he was the only one who hadn’t submitted music online. Instead, he was invited after Robert DeLeo heard about Gutt after DeLeo had played a show in Detroit with the Hollywood Vampires.

“Talk about a happy accident,” Robert said. “It was clear right away that Jeff had the range to sing vocally challenging songs like ‘Piece of Pie’ and ‘Interstate Love Song.’ But we soon discovered that he also has a great ear for melody and knew how to write a song.”

In September 2016, the four of them started working together and spent the next several months finishing off song ideas and writing new music. “The chemistry was there from the start, and Jeff kept coming up with one great melody after another. We ended up finishing 14 songs, which is the most that Stone Temple Pilots has ever recorded for an album,” Kretz said.

For his part, Gutt is prepared for the inevitable comparisons to STP’s original singer Scott Weiland, who passed away in December 2015.

“No one will ever fill Scott’s shoes and I’m not trying to – he’s a legend. But these songs deserve to be performed and people want to hear them. I’m just honored that the guys chose me to help them continue to build this band’s legacy,” Gutt said.

The newly minted quartet is busy mixing the new songs now and plans to release the as-yet-untitled album in early 2018. This will be the group’s seventh studio album since its multi-platinum 1992 debut Core, and its first full-length since Stone Temple Pilots in 2010. The album will be released on Atlantic/Rhino, continuing the band’s legacy with Atlantic Records to over 25 years.

MONKEES REISSUE SERIES CONTINUES WITH
SUPER DELUXE EDITION OF MORE OF THE MONKEES

Three-CD Collection Features Stereo And Mono Mixes Of The Original Album,
Plus 55 Previously Unreleased Tracks, Including The Band’s Earliest Live Recordings

Available December 15 Exclusively From Rhino.com And Monkees.com

LOS ANGELES – The Monkees’ most successful album will be celebrated with a three-disc Super Deluxe Edition that features 55 previously unreleased tracks, including newly discovered concert recordings from 1967 that are the band’s earliest-known live tracks.

MORE OF THE MONKEES: SUPER DELUXE EDITION will be available on December 15 for $59.98. Limited to just 4,500 numbered copies, the collection is available exclusively from www.monkees.com and www.rhino.com. Similar to Rhino’s other Monkees releases, the music comes housed in a hardbound 7” x 7” box with a bonus 7” vinyl single of “I’m A Believer” (Remix) b/w “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone” (Vocals Only).

“This is the most exciting archival dig through The Monkees’ vault since 2009’s Birds, Bees & The Monkees: Deluxe Edition. Every track is newly mastered for this set; the live material is the most historically significant of their career,” says Andrew Sandoval, who produced the set and wrote a new essay for its expansive booklet.

The Monkees’ second studio album, More Of The Monkees, remains the group’s biggest selling album, racking up a staggering 70 weeks on the Billboard chart. The album stayed at #1 for 18 weeks in 1967 alone, and became the third bestselling LP of the 1960s. It features unforgettable songs like, “I’m A Believer,” “She,” “Mary, Mary” and “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone.”

Just in time for the album’s 50th anniversary, MORE OF THE MONKEES: SUPER DELUXE EDITION significantly expands the special edition of More of the Monkees released in 2006. Along with mono and stereo mixes of the original album, the Deluxe Edition takes listeners into the studio for the making of the album through extensive studio outtakes. Many make their debut here, including the first recorded versions of: “Words,” “Valleri,” “Hold On Girl” and more. Backing tracks for early version of “Sometime In The Morning,” “I’m A Believer” and “Look Out (Here Comes Tomorrow)” offer a behind-the-scenes perspective on the creative process.

However, the set’s most historic aspect is the inclusion of newly discovered unreleased live music. Recorded in Arizona in 1967, these 10 songs are The Monkees’ earliest-known live recordings. The performance highlights songs from the band’s 1966 self-titled debut (“I Wanna Be Free” and “Papa Gene’s Blues”), along with covers of Ray Charles’ “I Got A Woman” and Willie Dixon’s “You Can’t Judge A Book By The Cover.”
