JETHRO TULL: THIS WAS - 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

3CD/DVD Collection Expands The Legendary Band's 1968 Debut With
Steven Wilson Remix Of The Original, Plus Rare Recordings And New Mixes

Available From Rhino On November 9

LOS ANGELES - After several name changes, Jethro Tull played its first show as Jethro Tull in February 1968. Months later, Ian Anderson, Mick Abrahams, Glenn Cornick and Clive Bunker released the band's debut - This Was. The album debuted at #10 on the U.K. albums chart, and was the first step in a 50-year (and counting) journey that made Jethro Tull one of the world's most successful progressive rock bands.

To celebrate the album's upcoming anniversary, Rhino will release a deluxe 3CD/DVD version for $49.98. THIS WAS: 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION will be available on November 9.

Highlights include:

- Original album and bonus tracks remixed in stereo by Steven Wilson
- Live BBC sessions recorded in 1968
- Original mono mix and original 1968 U.K. stereo mix
- Original album and bonus tracks remixed by Steven Wilson in 4.1 DTS and AC3
Dolby Digital surround and 96/24 LPCM stereo
- Flat transfer of the 1968 stereo remix
- Presented in a case-bound DVD book filled with an extensive history of the album,
track-by-track annotations by Ian Anderson, plus rare and unseen photographs

Recorded during the summer of 1968, This Was is the only Jethro Tull album to feature guitarist Mick Abrahams, who left the group shortly after the album came out to form Blodwyn Pig. The title of the album refers to the band moving away from its early blues-based sound, which was referenced in the original liner notes: "This was how we were playing then - but things change - don't they?" The album includes songs that have been in and out of Jethro Tull's live show for 50 years, like "My Sunday Feeling" and "Beggar's Farm." Also featured are several bonus tracks: "Love Story," "A Christmas Song," "Sunshine Day" and "Aeroplane."

In 1968, BBC Radio featured the band twice on its award-winning program, "BBC Top Gear Session." Both of those performances - nine songs in total - are featured on the second disc, including live versions of "Serenade To A Cuckoo," "Love Story" and "My Sunday Feeling." Rounding out the disc are b-sides, outtakes, radio advertisements, and an unreleased mono mix of "Someday The Sun Won't Shine For You" (Faster Version). The final CD features the album's original U.K. stereo mix and its original mono mix.

The DVD features the original album and bonus tracks remixed by Steven Wilson in 4.1 DTS and AC3 Dolby Digital surround and 96/24 LPCM stereo. There are also 5.1 surround versions of "Love Story" and "A Christmas Song." Also included in 96/24 LPCM stereo is the 1969 stereo mix that was released in the U.S.

His forthcoming Solo Anthology - The Best of Lindsey Buckingham is a comprehensive record of this illustrious career. Out October 5 on Rhino Records, Buckingham's Solo Anthology will be released as a 3-disc set on CD and digitally and will also be available as a single disc abridged release. A 6-LP vinyl release is slated for November 23. The album is available for pre-order now.

Solo Anthology - The Best of Lindsey Buckingham includes album, live and alternate versions of some of Lindsey's celebrated solo albums including cuts from Law and Order, Go Insane, Out of the Cradle, Under the Skin, Gift of Screws and Seeds We Sow and incorporates songs from his collaborative album with Christine McVie released in 2017. The anthology features Buckingham's film work with "Holiday Road" and "Dancin Across The USA" from the 1983 motion picture soundtrack to National Lampoon's Vacation and "Time Bomb Town" from 1985's Back to the Future. Live versions of Fleetwood Mac's "Tusk" and "Go Your Own Way" round out the album, but the most thrilling tracks come in the form of two new songs that have never before been released, "Hunger" and "Ride This Road."

This fall Lindsey Buckingham will head out on a North American Tour in support of his Solo Anthology. The tour kicks off at Revolution Hall in Portland, OR on October 7 and highlights include the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on October 12 and Town Hall in New York on December 4. Band On Tour Now

LOS ANGELES - It was the hard rocking sound of hits like "Still Of The Night" and "Give Me All Your Love Tonight" that brought Whitesnake worldwide, multi-platinum success. Even so, the band's founder and lead singer, David Coverdale has never been a stranger to the occasional ballad, going back to his early days with Deep Purple on "Soldier Of Fortune" and, most famously, with Whitesnake on the 1987 #1 smash hit, "Here I Go Again."

After Whitesnake finishes its current summer tour with Foreigner, the band will revisit some of its best acoustic performances with UNZIPPED: SUPER DELUXE EDITION. This 5 CD/DVD collection brings together unplugged and acoustic-based performances recorded over the past 20+ years, including rare and unreleased studio and live recordings, acoustic demos, concert videos, interviews and more. The extensive set will be available on October 19 for $59.98. On the same day, Rhino will also release UNZIPPED in three other formats: single-CD ($9.98), double-CD ($19.98), and double-LP ($29.98). All of the music will be available digitally and via streaming services.

The first disc from UNZIPPED: SUPER DELUXE EDITION mixes rare and unreleased versions of songs like "Summer Rain" and "Forevermore" from the band's recent studio albums, Good To Be Bad (2008) and Forevermore (2011). Also included are songs like "Love Is Blind" from Coverdale's solo album, Into The Light (2000); and a previously unreleased song, "All The Time In The World." All 11 tracks are available on the single-CD, double-CD and double-LP versions of UNZIPPED.

In 1997, Coverdale and guitarist Adrian Vandenberg played an unplugged concert in Tokyo that was recorded and initially released exclusively in Japan as Starkers in Tokyo. That recording has been remixed and will make its North American-debut on the second disc of UNZIPPED: SUPER DELUXE EDITION. The acoustic performance touches on the different stages of Coverdale's career, from his time in Deep Purple ("Soldier of Fortune"), to his solo albums ("Too Many Tears"), and, most famously, with Whitesnake on unplugged versions of hits like "Is This Love" and "Here I Go Again." These 12 tracks, along with all the music on the single-CD version of UNZIPPED, will also be available on double-CD, and double-LP.

"Some of my favourite love songs are on disc one of this collection... and I LOVE, love songs," says Coverdale. "Though reluctant at first to go "unzipped" in public, the shows I did with Adrian Vandenberg in 1997, and then Doug Aldrich in 2006, were incredibly memorable... primarily because it gave me an opportunity to be 'at one' with the crowd... some songs ask for a softer touch... and those are the songs we have here in this collection."

UNZIPPED: SUPER DELUXE EDITION has even more of unreleased, unplugged recordings, including more performances from Coverdale's 1997 tour with Vandenberg, plus several later shows featuring Coverdale and guitarist Doug Aldrich. Plus, more than two dozen of Coverdale's unreleased, acoustic demos are also included in the collection.

A DVD completes UNZIPPED: SUPER DELUXE EDITION with live, unplugged performances filmed around the world between 1997 and 2015, including a complete acoustic show recorded at the Cutting Room in New York in 2008. A highlight for U.S. fans will be the North American debut of the 1997 concert video, Starkers In Tokyo, which has been remixed in 5.1 and Stereo exclusively for this new collection. Additional bonus features include an interview with Coverdale and Vandenberg, bootleg videos, the "Love Is Blind" music video and a slideshow.

Coverdale continues, "These songs are some of the most personal I've been involved with through my almost five decades as a professional musician, singer and composer...This is me at my most unguarded... innocent... writing, as I still do, for the fun... the expression... the poetry... all LOVE songs."

Whitesnake is currently on tour.  More info on tour dates can be found here: https://whitesnake.com/tour

LOS ANGELES - This Friday, August 3, marks 50 years since The Doors hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart for the second time with "Hello, I Love You."

Rhino will commemorate the 50th anniversary with two new releases this week. Out today on all digital download and streaming services is the "Hello, I Love You" maxi-single, featuring a newly remastered version of the song along with previously unreleased "rough mixes" of "Hello, I Love You" along with "Love Street," the single's original b-side.

Available this Friday, exactly 50 years to the date of the track hitting #1, is a new 7" vinyl version of the single with its original b-side "Love Street." This anniversary vinyl release uses mono radio mixes of the songs that were given exclusively to radio stations for airplay in 1968. This version of "Hello, I Love You" was first available last year as part of The Singles CD collection and is making its vinyl debut here, while the "Love Street" mix is being released commercially for the first time. The 7" single will be available on August 3 for $9.98.

"Hello, I Love You" is also featured in the upcoming Waiting For The Sun: 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition , available September 14.  This 2-CD/1-LP collection features a new version of the album's original stereo mix on both CD and 180-gram vinyl LP, which has been newly remastered from the original master tapes by Bruce Botnick, The Doors' longtime engineer/mixer. The set also includes a second disc of 14 completely unreleased tracks: nine recently discovered "rough mixes" from the album recording sessions and five never-before-released live songs from The Doors 1968 European tour.
