STONE TEMPLE PILOTS CELEBRATE 25 YEARS OF PURPLE WITH SUPER DELUXE EDITION

3-CD/1-LP Set Features Newly Remastered Version Of  Multi-Platinum Album

The Previously Unreleased "Big Empty (Acoustic Version)"

LOS ANGELES - When Stone Temple Pilots returned to the studio in 1994 to record the band's second album, the quartet was facing the high expectations set by its debut Core (1992), which sold more than eight million copies and earned a Grammy® Award. The release of Purple on June 7, 1994 would cement their place as one of the definitive bands of their generation as the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard album chart on its way to selling more than six million copies.

Today - on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the album's debut - Rhino announces the upcoming release of a newly remastered version of Purple that is expanded with rare and unreleased studio and live recordings.

PURPLE: SUPER DELUXE EDITION will be available on October 18 for $64.98. The 3-CD/1-LP set includes a newly remastered version of the original studio album on both CD and vinyl, plus unreleased versions of album tracks and rarities, along with an unreleased full concert recording from 1994. On the same day, the music will be made available both digitally and as a 2-CD Deluxe Edition for $24.98. The previously unreleased acoustic version of "Big Empty" is now available digitally. Click here to listen now.

A limited edition bundle of the PURPLE: SUPER DELUXE EDITON is now available to pre-order atwww.stonetemplepilots.com which includes a bonus replica 7-inch vinyl single of "Interstate Love Song" that was originally released in the UK in 1994. This exclusive bundle is limited to 1,000 copies.

Scott Weiland, Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz recorded most of Purple in Atlanta with producer Brendan O'Brien. The album features some of the group's most iconic tracks, including "Interstate Love Song" and "Vasoline" - which both topped the Mainstream Rock chart in 1994.

PURPLE: SUPER DELUXE EDITION explores the making of the album with a mix of unreleased music that includes demos ("Unglued" and "Army Ants") and early versions of album tracks ("Meat Plow" and "Interstate Love Song"), plus acoustic recordings ("Big Empty"). The collection also features three unreleased live performances from the 1994 KROQ Acoustic Christmas show, including a version of "Christmastime Is Here" from A Charlie Brown Christmas. Perhaps the biggest surprise of the new collection, however, is STP's previously unreleased demo of "She Knows Me Too Well," a song the Beach Boys originally recorded in 1965.

PURPLE: SUPER DELUXE EDITION closes with a previously unreleased recording of the band's August 23, 1994 concert in New Haven, Connecticut. The electrifying 17-song performance captures the band in top form with both electric and acoustic sets, featuring 10 songs from Purple along with hits from Core ("Plush" and "Sex Type Thing") and covers (David Bowie's "Andy Warhol" and Woody Guthrie's "Gypsy Davy").

Stone Temple Pilots will launch a co-headlining U.S. tour with Rival Sons on September 13 in Baltimore that will see the two bands performing on intimate stages including The Met Philadelphia, Ford Amphitheater in New York City, The Fillmore New Orleans and more, before wrapping October 9 in San Diego. Please see full itinerary below.

YES: 50 LIVE

New Live Album Highlights The Legendary Band's 50th Anniversary Tour, Which Featured Founding Member Tony Kaye On All Shows, And Patrick Moraz In Philadelphia, Where 10 Current And Former Members Were On Stage Together For The Encore Performance Of "Starship Trooper"

Available August 2 From Rhino

LOS ANGELES - Yes celebrated the band's 50th anniversary over the last year with an extensive tour that included shows in Europe, North America and Japan. This year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are back with a new double live album that was recorded during the group's anniversary tour.

YES 50 LIVE will be available from Rhino on August 2 as two CDs ($19.98), or four LPs ($79.98). On the same day, the music will also be available digitally to download and stream. For a limited time, Rhino.com will also have exclusive color vinyl versions available while supplies last.

The cover of YES 50 LIVE was painted by Roger Dean, whose artwork and trademark calligraphy are synonymous with the band's identity. The CD and vinyl versions both come with an eight-page booklet that includes photographs from the tour taken by the Gottlieb Brothers.

YES 50 LIVE features 13 live performances of key songs that helped make Yes the most enduring, ambitious, and virtuosic progressive band in rock history. What makes this collection even more extraordinary is the number of band members who are featured. In fact, much of the album was recorded in Philadelphia, a show where 10 members of Yes were on stage during the encore (current members) Steve Howe, Geoff Downes, Alan White, Billy Sherwood and Jon Davison, Jay Schellen, plus (former members) Tony Kaye, Patrick Moraz, Tom Brislin and Trevor Horn. Patrick Moraz is featured on "Soon" and Tony Kaye is featured on "Yours Is No Disgrace," "Roundabout," and "Starship Trooper."

The live performances on YES 50 LIVE seamlessly weave together several eras from the band's past with songs from 10 different studio albums recorded between 1970 and 2011. Naturally, the collection highlights some of the group's most important music, including "Starship Trooper," from The Yes Album (1971), "Roundabout" from Fragile (1971) and the title track from Close to the Edge (1972). But the new live album also highlights some of Yes' most adventurous work with an excerpt from "The Ancient," a track that appeared on 1973's Tales From Topographic Oceans, and "Soon," which is the final section in "The Gates Of Delirium" from 1974's Relayer

This summer, the current members of Yes will extend the band's 50th anniversary tour in North America as it headlines "The Royal Affair Tour." Tour dates can be found here.

TIN MACHINE - 9 SONG COMPILATION - 30th ANNIVERSARY VIDEO
AVAILABLE COMMERCIALLY FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY FOR STREAMING AND DOWNLOAD ON PARLOPHONE

2019 sees the 30th anniversary of the debut album by Tin Machine, a band fronted by David Bowie featuring Reeves Gabrels on guitar, Tony Sales on bass, and Hunt Sales on drums.

To promote the album the band, along with acclaimed director Julien Temple, filmed nine riotous performances of songs from the record at the downtown New York City rock club The Ritz, which have remained unreleased commercially until now. To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the record, the nine song medley is available as a digital download today.

Tin Machine the album heralded a back to basics approach for Bowie with a hard sound with simple production. The New York Times commented at the time, "Bowie's lyrics are bald, sincere statements, sometimes proud to be vulgar, rock songs don't get much blunter." Rolling Stone reviewed the record as, "indignant and acidic, an all-too-welcome feast of aggro-guitar flamboyance and bass-drum body checking." Spin said, "The record was aggressive, direct, brutal and incendiary fun."

30 years on Tin Machine still packs an almighty punch.

AMERICA CELEBRATES THE BAND'S 50th ANNIVERSARY

New Three-CD Compilation Spotlights The Grammy-Winning Trio's Enduring Musical Legacy Along With Several Rare And Unreleased Recordings On July 12

2LP, Single CD, And Digital Versions Also From Rhino On The Same Day

Anniversary Tour Dates Announced

LOS ANGELES - America celebrates its half-centennial this year with a trio of compilations that follow the iconic Grammy-winning band to the top of the pop charts, across musical eras, and deep into the hearts of innumerable fans. The multi-platinum-selling group--led by founding members Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell and known for their memorable and dynamic live performances--have also announced a series of live dates celebrating the anniversary and are on tour now.

50th ANNIVERSARY: THE COLLECTION will be available from Rhino on July 12 as a 3CD ($29.98), 2LP ($39.98) and digitally. A single CD ($14.98) version is also available on the same day. For a limited time, Rhino.com will offer exclusive signed copies of the 3CD version.

Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and Dan Peek began in 1970 as a young, wide-eyed trio that parlayed the runaway success of their #1 single "A Horse With No Name" into a string of hits in partnership with legendary producer George Martin.

Fans embraced the group for simply being themselves: three gifted singer-songwriters with a love of soaring melodies, close harmonies, and honest expression. In the collection's liner notes, Bunnell says: "There wasn't any contrivance in what we did." Beckley adds: "We didn't start out with some grand plan - it just turned into a soundtrack for so many people's lives. That's something that I treat with great respect."

The three-disc version of 50th ANNIVERSARY: THE COLLECTION brings the core of America's recorded legacy together with choice rarities like an early studio recording of "Ventura Highway," a live performance of "Riverside," and an unreleased demo for the #1 hit "Sister Golden Hair." All of the band's Top 10 singles are included here: "Horse With No Name," "Ventura Highway," "Tin Man," "Lonely People" and more.

All seven albums that America recorded in the '70s with Warner Bros. Records are represented in the set with tracks from America (1971), Homecoming (1972), Hat Trick (1973), Holiday (1974), Hearts (1975), Hideaway (1976), and Harbor (1977). The set also includes "You Can Do Magic," a Top 10 hit from the album View From The Ground released by Capitol Records in 1982.

Two other versions of America's anniversary collection will also be available on July 12. The single-disc version has 16 tracks that focus mainly on the band's biggest radio hits. The double-LP and CD versions dive deeper into the band's catalog with a total of 25 tracks. All versions are available for pre-sale now.

AMERICA has influenced generations of musicians with their distinctive brand of acoustic-driven, harmony-rich rock, mixed with pop smarts, in soul-searching classic songs that reflected the times they were living in.

The band's huge radio success throughout the '70s and early '80s at times overshadowed the lyrical depth of their songs such as the questing "Horse With No Name" (with its environmental message at the end); the frank romantic politics of "Sister Golden Hair"; the war paranoia of "Sandman" (written in part from conversations with returning airmen from Vietnam); and the cautionary life advice of "Don't Cross The River."

As further testament to the band's staying power and influence, AMERICA's recordings have been licensed for a multitude of placements in films (including American Hustle, The Nice Guys, The Last Unicorn and Girl Most Likely), television shows (among them The Sopranos, Friends, Breaking Bad and Saturday Night Live) and video games (including Grand Theft Auto). See their soundtrack credits on IMDB here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2085638/.
