a-ha Hunting High And Low Expanded Edition

New 4-CD Version Of 2015’s Hunting High And Low: 30th Anniversary Edition Includes Original Album Plus Dozens Of Rare Tracks

Available On November 22 From Rhino

LOS ANGELES – a-ha rocketed to stardom in dramatic fashion in 1985 when the group’s debut single, “Take On Me” topped the charts in 36 different countries on its way to becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time. The following year, a-ha was nominated for Best New Artist in 1986, making a-ha the first Norwegian band to be nominated for a Grammy®. Their legacy continues to grow in 2019, as the iconic music video for “Take On Me” nears billion views on YouTube, a feat very few artists have accomplished before.

Rhino will introduce a new version of Hunting High And Low 30th Anniversary Edition on November 22 titled HUNTING HIGH AND LOW EXPANDED EDITION. It will include all four CDs from the original 2015 release along with an edited version of the booklet presented in a 10-panel Softpack including essay by Kieron Tyler.

The first disc of the HUNTING HIGH AND LOW EXPANDED EDITION features a remastered version of the original album, which has sold more than 10 million copies since its 1985 debut.

The second disc is packed with more than two dozen rare demos, such as an early version of “Take On Me” recorded in 1982 under the title of “Lesson One.” Other highlights from the second disc include demos for all five singles taken from the album: the title track, “The Sun Always Shines On T.V.,” “Train Of Thought,” “Love Is Reason” and of course “Take On Me.”

Remixes and single versions of various tracks from Hunting High And Low are collected on the third disc including unique 7” versions of the UK # 1 hit “The Sun Always Shines On T.V.” and the single remix of “Hunting High And Low.” This disc also presents extended versions of “Train Of Thought” (Dub Mix) and “Take On Me” (1985 12” Mix), along with the B-sides “Driftwood” and “Stop! And Make Your Mind Up.”

The final disc presents an alternate version of the original album using early and alternate mixes for every album track, including the version of “Take On Me” that was used for the music video.

OL’ DIRTY BASTARD N***A PLEASE
20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Deluxe Edition Of The Influential Rapper’s Second Solo Album Is Available Now Digitally Including The Digital Debut Of Four Remixes Of “Got Your Money”

LOS ANGELES – Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s N***a Please turns 20 this month and Rhino is celebrating with a new digital-only version of the beloved rapper’s second consecutive gold-certified solo album.

N***A PLEASE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION is available today on all digital download and streaming services. The collection includes the original album’s 13 tracks along with the digital debut of four remixes of its breakout single “Got Your Money.”

O.D.B. released N***a Please on September 14, 1999, four years after making his solo debut with the Grammy®-nominated Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. When it was released, N***a Please debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 and was quickly certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The album includes some of the early production work of The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), including “Recognize,” “Cold Blooded” and “Got Your Money.” The latter became the album’s biggest hit and featured a memorable chorus sung by Kelis.

N***A PLEASE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION includes four versions of “Got Your Money” that have never been released digitally. In addition to an instrumental version of the track and the Oxide Remix, the collection also features two mixes by British producer DJ Dee Kline.

The original album also includes a number of tracks produced by RZA, who – along with O.D.B. – was one of the founding members of Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time. RZA produced the album’s title track, in addition to “I Want P***y” and “Cracker Jack.”

Sadly, N***a Please would be the last solo album that Ol’ Dirty Bastard would release before he passed away in November 2004, just two days before his 36th birthday.

JETHRO TULL: STORMWATCH 40th ANNIVERSARY

4CD/2DVD Collection Expands The Legendary Group’s 1979 Album
With Steven Wilson’s Newly Remixed Version Of The Original, Plus Studio
Outtakes, An Entire Unreleased Concert Recorded In 1980, And More

Available From Rhino On October 18

Jethro Tull released Stormwatch in September 1979, completing a folk-rock trilogy the band started with Songs from the Wood in 1977 and continued the following year with Heavy Horses. Certified gold in the U.S., Stormwatch was also the final album to feature the classic late-1970s Jethro Tull lineup, which included Ian Anderson, Martin Barre, John Glascock, John Evan, David (now Dee) Palmer and Barriemore Barlow.

To celebrate the album’s upcoming anniversary, Rhino will release STORMWATCH: 40th ANNIVERSARY FORCE 10 EDITION. This new 4CD/2DVD set will be available on October 18 for $64.98.

Highlights include:
•    Original album and associated recordings newly remixed by Steven Wilson
•    Full concert from the Netherlands recorded in March 1980
•    Original album and 13 associated recordings mixed to 5.1 DTS and AC3 Dolby Digital
•    Flat transfer of the original 1979 mix at 96/24 LPCM stereo
•    15 associated recordings mixed to 96/24 LPCM stereo and five original mixes at 96/24 LPCM stereo
•    Presented in a case-bound DVD book filled with an extensive history of the album, track-by-track annotations by Anderson and Palmer, rare photographs and more

The recording sessions for Stormwatch stretched from August 1978 to July 1979 as the album’s ecological and maritime themes slowly came into focus on songs like “North Sea Oil” and “Flying Dutchman.” The band recorded several tracks that were left off the album because they didn’t fit the theme. Many of those can be found on the second disc of this set, including “Man Of God,” “Crossword,” “Kelpie” and “The Lyricon Blues.” In addition to those outtakes, the disc also features early versions of the album tracks “Dark Ages” and “Dun Ringill.”

STORMWATCH: 40th ANNIVERSARY FORCE 10 EDITION also includes a previously unreleased recording of Jethro Tull’s concert at Congreßgebouw in the Netherlands on March 16, 1980. The career-spanning performance mixed new Stormwatch tracks (“Something’s On The Move,” “Home” and “Elegy”) with older hits, like “Locomotive Breath,” “Aqualung,” “Thick As A Brick” and “Minstrel In The Gallery.”

STORMWATCH: 40th ANNIVERSARY FORCE 10 EDITION concludes with two audio-only DVDs that feature various mixes of the original album along with the associated recordings featured in this set.

Stormwatch marked the end of an era for Jethro Tull. Due to his deteriorating health, bassist John Glascock missed most of the sessions for the album and only appears on three of its songs (“Flying Dutchman,” “Orion” and “Elegy.”) Tragically, Glascock died shortly after the album was released. The lineup changed even more following the tour to promote the album as Barlow, Evan and Palmer left the group.

THE JAPANESE SINGLES 1978-1984

7” Vinyl Collection Features Replicas Of The 13 Singles And B-Sides Previously Released Exclusively In Japan From The Band’s First Six Multi-Platinum Albums

Available On Black Vinyl On November 1,
Limited Edition Red Vinyl Version Available Only At Rhino.com

LOS ANGELES – Van Halen released 13 singles in Japan between 1978 and 1984 that will be collected in a new 7” vinyl set from Rhino. Each replica single features the original sleeve artwork and comes housed in a cigarette-style box. Two versions of THE JAPANESE SINGLES 1978-1984 will be available on November 1: a black vinyl version and a limited edition version of 750 copies on red vinyl, which is available now to pre-order at Rhino.com. Both versions have a suggested retail price of $129.98.

THE JAPANESE SINGLES 1978-1984 encompasses the first six albums released by Van Halen, which featured guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen, singer David Lee Roth, and bassist Michael Anthony. Those albums include the band’s self-titled debut and 1984, which were both certified Diamond for U.S. sales in excess of 10 million. This rare feat places them on an elite short list of double RIAA-certified Diamond Award honorees.

The original album version of each song is featured in this set except for: “Hot For Teacher,” which has a unique single edit that was issued exclusively in Japan; along with the single edit versions of “(Oh) Pretty Woman” and “I’ll Wait.”

THE JAPANESE SINGLES 1978-1984 opens with a trio of singles from Van Halen (1978): “Ain’t Talkin’ ’Bout Love,” “On Fire” and a blistering cover of the Kinks’ “You Really Got Me,” which was the band’s first single and first Top 40 hit. The band’s 1979 follow-up Van Halen II (certified 5x platinum) generated two singles on the collection: “Somebody Get Me A Doctor” and “Dance The Night Away.”

The multi-platinum albums Women and Children First (1980) and Fair Warning (1981) are represented by “And The Cradle Will Rock” and “Unchained” respectively. The 1982 album Diver Down (certified 4x platinum) contributes two singles: “(Oh) Pretty Woman” and “Dancing In The Street.” THE JAPANESE SINGLES 1978-1984 concludes with “I’ll Wait,” “Panama,” “Hot For Teacher” and the #1 smash “Jump” – all from VAN HALEN’s seminal album, 1984.

Formed in Los Angeles in 1974, Van Halen changed the rock and roll landscape forever with their eponymous 1978 debut album and subsequently produced a repertoire of hits that remain some of the strongest and most influential rock songs ever written. With more than 75 million albums sold worldwide, and more No. 1 hits on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart than any other artist, the band’s record of achievement is hard to top. VAN HALEN was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.
