WARNER MUSIC GROUP CELEBRATES THE POWER OF MUSIC IN FILM WITH ITS UPCOMING VINYL SERIES

The Soundtracks To 9 Memorable Movies Will Be Released On Vinyl This Summer

Highlights Include Colored Vinyl Reissues For Space Jam, Inglourious Basterds, Jackie Brown, and Death Proof from Quentin Tarantino, And Goodfellas On Vinyl For The First Time Since It Was Released In 1990

LOS ANGELES – Break out the popcorn and turntables because Warner Music Group is taking music fans to the movies this summer with its upcoming vinyl soundtrack series. WMG will showcase its impressive catalog weekly throughout July and August with special vinyl reissues for acclaimed soundtracks to blockbuster films like Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas, the original Space Jam, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and three Quentin Tarantino films, Jackie Brown, Inglorious Basterds, and Death Proof, to name a few.

The series begins on July 9 and will continue through August, with new soundtracks arriving each week. Among the rarities is the soundtrack for Goodfellas, which hasn't been produced on vinyl since the film was released nearly 30 years ago. It will be reissued on blue vinyl on August 20. This will also be the first global pressing for the album, which features songs by Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, The Shangri-las, and many more.

Music has always played a pivotal role in Quentin Tarantino's movies, including soundtracks to three of his films: Jackie Brown (1997), Death Proof (2007), and Inglorious Basterds (2009). Pressed on blue vinyl, Jackie Brown: Music From The Miramax Motion Picture features songs by Bobby Womack and Peace, Bill Withers, and The Delfonics. Death Proof includes rare music from the '60s and '70 and will be available on tri-color red, clear, and black vinyl. And finally, Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds: Motion Picture Soundtrack will be pressed on blood-red translucent vinyl.

The collection also features two soundtracks from the Batman franchise. The first being Batman Forever - Music From The Motion Picture out on July 16, which contains several hit singles, including; Seal's "Kiss From A Rose" which won three Grammy® Awards, an MTV Movie Award for "Best Song" and charted at number one in the Billboard Top 100. In addition, the Grammy® Award-winning The Dark Knight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard will be out on August 27.

Other highlights include Alice Cooper's 1975 concept album Welcome To My Nightmare and the soundtrack for the 1993 hit movie Dazed and Confused, which is well known for its 70s rock theme and showcases many essential songs from the era, including “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath, “Low Rider” by WAR, and “Rock n Roll All Night” by Kiss.

The soundtrack series is a potent reminder of how integral music is to storytelling in films. Whether it’s an entire score by Alice Cooper in Welcome To My Nightmare or The Rolling Stones' "Monkey Man" blasting during the frenetic helicopter scene in Martin Scorsese's Goodfellas – certain songs are forever linked to specific movie moments.

Full details on all titles are listed below. All releases will be available exclusively at participating brick and mortar retail outlets.

Available on Friday, July 9:

Alice Cooper – Welcome To My Nightmare
1-LP on clear vinyl, Limited edition of 11,500 copies, $21.98
Alice Cooper perfected shock rock with his 1975 concept album WELCOME TO MY NIGHTMARE. The stage show is justifiably legendary, replete with boa constrictors, guillotines, and other Grand Guignol theatrics. This 1975 Atlantic Records collection is its aural equivalent - a loosely conceptual set exploring a child's dark dreams. With guitarists Dick Wagner and Steve Hunter supplying the firepower, this NIGHTMARE features plenty of hard rock (“Cold Ethyl,” “The Black Widow”).

Various Artists – Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof
1-LP on clear, black, and red vinyl, Limited edition of 13000 copies, $21.98
The soundtrack to Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 movie Death Proof features rare music from the 1960s and 1970s, including The Smith's “Baby It's You,” Willy DeVille's “It's So Easy,” The Coasters' “Down In Mexico” and April March's “Chick Habit.” It is interspersed with clips of dialogue from various scenes in the film.

Various Artists - Space Jam (Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture)
2-LP on red and black vinyl, Limited edition of 11000 copies, $34.98
The hits-driven Space Jam soundtrack features artists Seal, Coolio, Quad City DJ, B-Real (from Cypress Hill), Busta Rhymes, Coolio, LL Cool J, and Method Man (from Wu-Tang Clan), amongst others.

Available on Friday, July 16:

Various Artists - Batman Forever - Music From The Motion Picture
2-LP on 140-gram blue/silver vinyl, Limited edition of 10,500 copies, $34.98
Batman Forever: Music from the Motion Picture is the soundtrack to the 1995 Tim Burton-produced movie Batman Forever. It was nominated for multiple Academy and Golden Globe awards. The soundtrack contains several hit singles, including; Seal’s “Kiss from a Rose,” which won three Grammy® Awards, an MTV Movie Award for “Best Song,” and charted at number one in the Billboard Top 100. Plus U2’s “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me,” and songs from The Flaming Lips, the Offspring, Nick Cave, Michael Hutchence (of INXS), PJ Harvey, and Massive Attack.

Various Artists - Jackie Brown: Music From The Miramax Motion Picture
1-LP on blue vinyl, Limited edition of 12000 copies, $21.98
Jackie Brown was initially released in 1997. The soundtrack features dialogue from the movie, which starred Samuel L. Jackson and Robert De Niro alongside soul-focused tracks including; “Across 110th Street” Bobby Womack and Peace, “Who Is He (And What Is He to You)?” by Bill Withers, “Didn’t I (Blow Your Mind This Time)” by The Delfonics, and “Inside My Love” by Minnie Riperton.

Available on Friday, July 23:

Various Artists - Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds Motion Picture Soundtrack
1-LP on blood-red translucent vinyl, Limited edition of 10,500 copies, $21.98
Quentin Tarantino’s WWII film Inglourious Basterds was released in 2009 to both critical and commercial acclaim. The movie won multiple awards, including an Academy Award, BAFTA, Screen Actors Guild, and Golden Globe, and, like all of Tarantino’s films, the soundtrack played a pivotal role. It was nominated for a Grammy® Award and is a mixture of scores from legendary Hollywood composer Ennio Morricone and a selection of quirky, rare tracks, amongst them David Bowie’s theme from the 1982 film Cat People.

Various Artists – Dazed and Confused (Music From And Inspired By The Motion Picture)
2-LP purple translucent vinyl, Limited edition of 10,000 copies, $31.98
The 1993 hit movie Dazed and Confused is well known for its 70s rock-themed soundtrack, featuring songs by Alice Cooper, War, ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, and others.

Available on Friday, August 20:

Various Artists - Goodfellas (Music From The Motion Picture)
1-LP on dark blue vinyl, Limited edition of 15,000 copies, $21.98
Martin Scorsese’s Motion Picture Goodfellas needs a little introduction. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made and the ultimate mobster movie. The soundtrack features artists Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, The Shangri-las, and many more. However, it is a rare find on vinyl, having only been pressed in a couple of small runs in the early 1990s. This 1LP release will be the first global pressing.

Available Friday, August 27:

Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard - The Dark Knight (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)
2-LP on neon green and violet splattered vinyl, Limited edition of 14,500 copies, $34.98
Grammy Award-winning The Dark Knight: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (sequel to Christopher Nolan’s 2005 Batman Begins) was composed by a collaboration between Hollywood film score legends Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard. It won multiple awards, including; winning a Grammy® Award for “Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media,” “Best Music” at the Saturn Awards, and “Best Soundtrack” at the Brit Awards. It was also nominated for “Best Film Music” at the BAFTA Awards. It also charted at #20 in the US Billboard 200. It has been unavailable on LP since the original release in 2008.

P.O.D. Will Kick Off Satellite Tour On August 14

Listen To A Previously Unreleased Version Of “Alive (Semi-acoustic Version)” Now

LOS ANGELES – In 2001, P.O.D. released its fourth studio album Satellite, a triple-platinum smash that remains the hard rock band’s best-selling album. To celebrate the record’s 20th anniversary, the San Diego-based group is hitting the road for its Satellite Tour and releasing a newly remastered version of Satellite, which has been expanded with rare and unreleased music.

SATELLITE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION will be available as a double-CD and digitally on September 3 for $24.98 and is available for pre-order now. Released a few days before the album’s official anniversary on September 11, the 27-song collection introduces a newly remastered version of the original album, plus a selection of rarities, remixes, and four previously unreleased demos, including “Alive (Semi-acoustic Version),” available today. A few weeks later, on October 8, SATELLITE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION will be released on vinyl as a double-LP as a part of Rhino’s Rocktober campaign.

P.O.D. enjoyed a taste of mainstream success in 1999 with the arrival of its third studio album – and major-label debut – The Fundamental Elements of Southtown. That platinum album primed the pump for an even more significant commercial breakthrough two years later with Satellite. After debuting at #6 on the Billboard 200, the record went on to sell more than seven million copies worldwide, including three million in the U.S. The record generated four singles: the title track, “Alive,” “Youth Of The Nation,” and “Boom.” In addition to its commercial success, Satellite also earned P.O.D. three Grammy® nominations for: “Alive” (Best Hard Rock Performance, 2002), “Portrait” (Best Metal Performance, 2003), and “Youth Of The Nation” (Best Hard Rock Performance, 2003).

SATELLITE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION has a bonus disc that includes b-sides like “Critic” and “Sabbath” that were initially released in Europe, plus remixes for “Boom” by The Crystal Method and “Youth Of The Nation” by Mike$ki.

P.O.D.’s Satellite Tour begins on August 14 in Sturgis, SD, where the band will perform at the famous Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. The group will play concerts across North America, including the Satellite Tour’s last show in their hometown of San Diego on October 7. See the full tour itinerary listed below. LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM ANNOUNCES FIRST SOLO ALBUM IN A DECADE

SELF-TITLED LP DUE OUT SEPT. 17 ON REPRISE

Single “I Don't Mind” Available Now

[Los Angeles, CA - June 8, 2021] Today, Lindsey Buckingham has announced his forthcoming self-titled LP due out September 17, 2021 on Reprise, alongside the first single, “I Don’t Mind.” Lindsey Buckingham is his first solo release since 2011’s Seeds We Sow and follows his departure from Fleetwood Mac. As with the seven studio and three live albums he has released as a solo artist beginning with 1981’s Law and Order, the new project showcases Buckingham’s instinct for melody and his singular fingerpicking guitar style, reaffirming his status as one of the most inventive and electrifying musicians of his generation. Written, produced and recorded by Buckingham at his home studio in Los Angeles, CA, the album will be released via vinyl, CD and on all digital and streaming services. A limited edition blue vinyl version is also available for pre-order via www.lindseybuckingham.com.

Pre-order Lindsey Buckingham HERE. Listen to “I Don’t Mind” HERE.

Says Buckingham of the meaning of the single, “‘I Don’t Mind’, like many of the songs

on my new album, is about the challenges couples face in long-term relationships.” He continues, “Over time, two people inevitably find the need to augment their initial dynamic with one of flexibility, an acceptance of each others’ flaws and a willingness to continually work on issues; it is the essence of a good long term relationship. This song celebrates that spirit and discipline.”

The new album is a welcome display of Buckingham’s instantly recognizable guitar work and vocal layering, particularly on songs such as “Power Down,” “Scream” and “Swan Song.” Elsewhere, Buckingham pays homage to ‘60s folk group the Pozo-Seco Singers’ hit single “Time,” a song he’s admired since he was as a teenager and has long intended to cover. “I wanted to make a pop album, but I also wanted to make stops along the way with songs that resemble art more than pop,” he says. “As you age, hopefully you keep getting a little more grounded in the craft of what you’re doing. For me, getting older has probably helped to reinforce the innocence and the idealism that hopefully was always there.”

Buckingham will be returning to the stage with a 30-city 2021 U.S. tour, marking his first in-person shows following a life-saving open-heart surgery in 2019. He’ll kick off the extensive run of shows at Milwaukee’s Pabst Theatre on September 1st, with stops at The Town Hall in NYC, The Theatre at Ace Hotel in LA and more. Tickets go on sale June 11th at 10:00AM local time. Visit www.lindseybuckingham.com for more info.

Over the last four decades, Buckingham has developed a radical sense of experimentation and an unrivaled savvy as a producer. He first honed these skills as a singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer and the musical visionary of Fleetwood Mac, for which he wrote and produced several Top Ten hits, including “Go Your Own Way,” “Tusk” and “Big Love.” Under Buckingham’s direction, Fleetwood Mac became one of the best-selling and most beloved rock groups of all time. As a solo artist, Buckingham often plays nearly every instrument himself; his complex arrangements and inventive production choices make his solo work thrilling to experience. Earlier this year, he appeared on “Caution,” the newest single from the Killers. He remains a highly sought-after collaborator, a maverick and a visionary.

Foreign Affair was Turner’s third studio album since her dramatic global resurgence, following the monumental success of Private Dancer (1984) and Break Every Rule (1986), as well as her lead role in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome in 1985. It went on to be a multi-platinum record across the world, including UK, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, and many more. The biggest track to come from the album was the 80s anthem, “The Best.” The track continues to transcend generations, with one of the most recognizable choruses in music history. On top of “The Best,” the album is complimented by several Turner favorites, such as “Steamy Windows,” “I Don’t Wanna Lose You,” and the title track, “Foreign Affair.”

DIGGING DEEP – SEASON IV

More Unconsidered Trifles From Robert Plant

Digging Deep Podcast Makes A Welcome Return May 24

Robert Plant’s acclaimed podcast Digging Deep returns on May 24 for a fourth series, featuring six brand new episodes to be broadcast every other week through August 2.

The series is once again hosted by renowned UK journalist Matt Everitt and this time out has more of a British feel to it with music by Scott Matthews, Afro Celt Sound System, transplanted Brit Chrissie Hynde in addition to long-time collaborator Allison Krauss.

Plant said: “Glory is fleeting, obscurity is forever….more unconsidered trifles…”

Digging Deep launched in June 2019 and became an instant must listen, driven by Plant’s incredibly eclectic taste in music. Throughout his career, Plant has avoided stereotype by embracing an incredibly diverse range of influences in all his recorded work.

Digging Deep delves into all that and more.

Digging Deep is available everywhere including Apple, Spotify, Amazon.
