Limited Edition Reissues Of Luxury Liner Grievous Angel from Musical Collaborators Emmylou Harris & Gram Parsons

High-End Remastering Of Classic Country Rock Staples

Available Exclusively At Rhino.com

LOS ANGELES—Rhino High Fidelity (Rhino Hi-Fi) returns with the latest additions to its acclaimed limited-edition, high-end vinyl reissues. Brought to you from musical collaborators Emmylou Harris’ Luxury Liner (1976) and Gram Parsons’ Grievous Angel (1973) are available today exclusively at Rhino.com and internationally at select WMG stores. Each release is limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies priced at $39.98

Rhino High Fidelity has set the industry standard for sound quality and packaging, demonstrating Rhino's 45-year legacy of award-winning audio releases. To ensure an unmatched listening experience, Kevin Gray expertly cuts lacquers and Optimal handles the 180-gram vinyl pressing. The attention to detail extends to the aesthetic experience, with glossy covers and "tip-on" jackets reminiscent of vinyl’s golden age.

Emmylou Harris, a monumental singer-songwriter and trailblazer for the country rock scene, released her fourth studio album, Luxury Liner, in 1976. It became her second successive No.1 Country Album on Billboard and peaked at No.21 on the Billboard 200, later earning her a GRAMMY® Award nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 1977 for “Making Believe.”  The album featured the hit single and Chuck Berry cover, “(You Never Can Tell) C’est la Vie,” and the first cover of Townes Van Zandt’s “Pancho and Lefty."

This High Fidelity release includes liner notes by James Austin in conversation with guitarist Albert Lee. Recalling the impact of Harris’ Luxury Liner, he shares, “Oh, I know, it sounds great. I think, compared to what was coming out of Nashville at that time, we broke new ground because we were going back to songs they discarded, you know, songs from the ’50s. Buck Owens songs and artists like The Louvin Brothers. Emmy made them all relevant again.”

Known as the architect of Country Rock, or as he coined it, “Cosmic American Music,” Gram Parsons delivered what would be his final album, Grievous Angel, in the summer of 1973. Considered one of Parsons’ greatest compositions, the album received a place on Rolling Stone’s “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time” list and continues to earn praise for its seamless blend of country and rock.

The liner notes include an introduction from Parsons’ daughter, Polly Parsons, acknowledging Emmy Lou’s uncredited contribution to Grievous Angel.

“Although credited as a Gram album, this collection is justifiably regarded as one of the best duet albums of all time. In Emmylou Harris, my father found his creative muse and final collaborator; these recordings would see their voices elevate to magical heights—heights that I doubt either anticipated when they first met—setting an angelic standard for all that followed.”

Rhino High Fidelity will continue to tap into Warner Music’s extensive music catalog, bringing music enthusiasts and audiophiles superlative versions of landmark albums from diverse genres, including jazz, blues, rock, pop, and beyond. The series will introduce two classic albums quarterly, maintaining the same exceptional audio and packaging quality that has quickly defined Rhino High Fidelity.

(September 12, 2024 - New York, NY) Chronicling a landmark moment for blues guitar and music in the 21st century, Eric Clapton will release the new live album and concert film Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival 2023 on November 29, 2024. It will be available in various configurations, including 4CD/2Blu-Ray6LP Vinyl2DVD, and Digital (streaming & Dolby ATMOS mix).

Last year, Clapton hosted and curated the seventh installment of his Crossroads Guitar Festival on September 23 and 24 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, CA. It notably marked the event’s return after a four-year break, selling out the iconic arena on both days. Once again, Clapton carefully assembled a powerhouse cohort of influential guitarists representing various eras and styles. The impressive lineup boasted Joe BonamassaClaptonGary Clark Jr.Sheryl CrowEric GalesH.E.R.Christone "Kingfish" IngramLos LobosJohn MayerThe Marcus King BandRoger McGuinnJohn McLaughlinSantanaThe Wallflowers, and many more. Not to forget, Bill Murray served as the evening’s “Master of Ceremonies.

Coming together, the set rotated between blues staples, American Songbook classics, and generational rock ‘n’ roll anthems shocked to life by this elite six-string consortium.

The initial Pay-Per-View broadcast beamed out the performance to fans everywhere. Now, they can revisit the show on the 2DVD or 2Blu-Ray set. The Festival incited widespread critical applause. Forbes raved, “my God, it was breathtaking, and Guitar.com summed it up best, “the lineup for this year’s Crossroads Festival could be described as—well, let’s just call it absolutely insane.” Guitar Worldhailed it as “a six-string celebration.

Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival continues a legacy of its own, beginning with the first iteration in New York in 1999 and carried through Dallas, TX in 2004, Bridgewater, IL in 2007 and 2010, New York in 2013, and Dallas, TX in 2019. As always, all profits benefited The Crossroads Centre Antigua, a treatment and education facility for chemically dependent persons founded by Clapton

The Festival has always served as a discovery point and launchpad for artists. Once again, it gathered the past, present and future of guitar music onto one stage for unparalleled musical events.

Relive Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2023 this year!

Unreleased Live Recording of “Love Someone” Available Today Digitally

LOS ANGELES – Jason Mraz’s YES! turns 10 this year, and Atlantic Records is celebrating with a new Deluxe Edition of the GRAMMY® Award winner’s fifth studio album, featuring new artwork and unreleased live recordings.

YES! (DELUXE EDITION) will be available on October 25 as a double album on gold-colored vinyl. The music will also be available the same day on digital and streaming platforms. Starting today, a previously unreleased live recording of “Love Someone” is available digitally. Listen HERE.

Along with the 14 original songs, YES! (DELUXE EDITION) now includes five unreleased tracks, all recorded live in 2014 at Mraz’s home studio, The Mranch, with album collaborators Raining Jane. These performances revisit some of the album’s most memorable songs, including “Love Someone,” “Hello, You Beautiful Thing,” and fan favorite “Long Drive.” The 2-LP set also includes a 12”x24” poster and new liner notes from Mraz.

Originally released in 2014, YES! was produced by Mraz along with Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, First Aid Kit, Rilo Kiley) and recorded in rural Omaha, Nebraska and inland Oceanside, California. The album marked the first full-length collaboration between Mraz and indie-rock-folk band Raining Jane, who continue to tour with him as part of The Superband. The group – formed by Mai Bloomfield, Becky Gebhardt, Chaska Potter, and Mona Tavakoli – played a pivotal role in shaping the album’s acoustic sound and co-wrote much of the material with Mraz.

Mraz says the creative collaboration with Raining Jane has always been rooted in friendship, respect, and a shared love for music. “We’ve been a constant yes since we met. We were always friends first, and still are. We love hearing what the other has to say and play.” He adds, “Yes is friendship. Yes is action. And now YES! is ten. To celebrate this ten-year milestone, we’ve placed the musicmakers on the front cover and extended the listening time with a few live recordings. We are so grateful for your time and attention – and for believing in YES!.”

About Jason Mraz:

Jason Mraz is a two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter and Songwriters Hall of Fame Honoree, most famously known for his hits, “I’m Yours” and “I Won’t Give Up.” His nonprofit, the Jason Mraz Foundation, supports programs focused on inclusive arts education and the advancement of equality. In 2023, Mraz released his eighth studio album, Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride (featuring the single “I Feel Like Dancing”) and placed second on Season 32 of “Dancing With The Stars,” which aired live on ABC and remains streaming on Disney+. Mraz previously performed the role of Dr. Pomatter in the hit Broadway musical Waitress.

Throughout Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride, Mraz’s latest release, there are hints of his formative releases, including his 2002 debut Waiting For My Rocket to Come and 2005’s Mr. A-Z, but it ultimately finds a kinship with 2008’s We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. The newer songs, which are unabashedly pop, saw Mraz reuniting with numerous collaborators, including L.A. band Raining Jane and producer Martin Terefe, who helped the 2008 breakout album. The songs grapple with the emotions and experiences that come with being in your mid-life, a time that is often ignored by pop songwriters. Its optimistic, inspiring sensibility reflects the musician’s overall approach.

LOS ANGELES—In celebration of Tina Turner’s debut album ‘Tina Turner The Country On!’s 50th anniversary, it will be reissued with a brand new half-speed mastered vinyl and CD on 15 November. Alongside this celebratory release, Tina’s subsequent three albums, Acid QueenRough and Love Explosion, are also being reissued on vinyl and CD for the first time in over 20 years. All four albums came during and after Tina's exit from the Ike & Tina Turner Revue and helped her find her own voice leading up to her ‘Private Dancer’ breakthrough album.

Tina Turner marked the 1970s as a journey to self-discovery and musical triumph, having already solidified herself with the explosive energy and soulful intensity of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Stepping away from the duo, Turner released her solo debut, Tina Turns The Country On!, in 1974. In an attempt to expand her stardom, Turner stepped into country music with her own soulful take on classics by Kris Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, James Taylor and Dolly Parton. Although the album didn’t see chart success, it received a GRAMMY Award nomination for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female.

Turner continued to embrace her rock ‘n’ roll roots while exploring new sonic landscapes with the bold and daring Acid Queen (1975). Inspired by her role as the “Acid Queen” in Ken Russell's film version of The Who's classic rock opera Tommy, the title track is a gritty and raw reimagination of Pete Townshend’s original. Turner embraced her character’s fiery and defiant voice with visceral covers of The Rolling Stones’ “Under My Thumb,” The Who’s “I Can See For Miles,” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” The album explored Turner’s musical boundary-pushing and was a testament to her unique artistry.

1978’s Rough saw Turner depart from the high-octane rock and soul sound of previous albums. Recently separated from her husband and musical partner Ike Turner, this album carved a new musical identity blending disco and blues with the opening track “Fruits of the Night” and Bob Segar’s “Fire Down Below.” Billboard dubbed the album as an "adventurous variety of old and new material," adding that Turner's "delivery has lost none of its snap and crackle."

Tina Turner entered 1979 with the eclectic Love Explosion, a harmonious combination of upbeat rhythms, soulful melodies, and Turner’s ever-commanding vocals. The album allowed Turner to further pursue artistic freedom while maintaining her reputation as a dynamic and energetic performer. She worked with French disco pioneer Alex R. Costandinos to compile funk and soul-inspired renditions of Patti LaBelle’s “I See Home” and Dusty Springfield’s “Just a Little Lovin’.”

Tina’s early career in the 1970s is a declaration of her resilience and newfound freedom, with sultry grooves and introspective lyrics capturing her progression as an artist.

NEW ORDER ANNOUNCE BROTHERHOOD ‘DEFINITIVE’  Releasing November 22

AND TRANSMISSIONS: THE DEFINITIVE STORY OF JOY DIVISION & NEW ORDER SEASON 2

Today (September 4, 2024), New Order announce a new remastered set of formats for their album Brotherhood, to be released via Warner Music on November 22, available in 2CD, 2DVD and 1LP.  Also being made available are reissues of the respective 12” singles “Bizarre Love Triangle,” “State Of The Nation,” and “Touched By The Hand Of God” with corresponding B-sides. Brotherhood is the fourth in the series of limited edition Definitive boxed sets, which includes Movement (2019), Power, Corruption and Lies (2020) and Low-Life (2023).

Written, recorded and produced by New OrderBrotherhood was originally released via Factory Records in September 1986 and peaked at No. 9 in the UK Albums Charts. This new collection for Brotherhood includes the album remastered on vinyl and CD and 2CD, which features 9 unreleased tracks and demos from a recording session in Japan in 1985 and a 2DVD with live performances from Brixton Academy (1987), G-Mex Manchester (1986), Glastonbury and TV shows from UK and Europe, all previously unavailable on DVD.

Also announced today is Season 2 of Transmissions: The Definitive Story of Joy Division & New Order, featuring brand new and exclusive interviews with band members Bernard Sumner, Stephen Morris, Gillian Gilbert and Peter Hook and special guest contributors including Johnny Marr, Billy Corgan, Christine And The Queens, Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Keith Allen, Peter Saville, Andrew O’Hagan, Arthur Baker, Kevin Cummins, DJ Paulette, Megan Louise, The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands, Paul Morley, Jo Whiley, Kevin Saunderson, Tarquin Gotch, Will Sergeant, Virgil Abloh, Hot Chip’s; Alexis Taylor, Mike Pickering, Neil Tennant, Daniel Avery, Charlie Gunn… and Bez.

Narrated by BBC Radio’s Elizabeth Alker, Season 2 finds our unlikely heroes adjusting after the surprise global success of “Blue Monday” transforms New Order into stars; Quincy Jones is knocking down their door with offers of a US record deal, John Hughes is hunting them down for soundtrack work, New York’s hippest producers are lining up to get in the studio and huge US success beckons. But as New Order’s profile grows, so too do the demands and excesses, and the band begins to realize just how far they’ve come, and to question how far the road might take them. This series documents arena tours, Ibizan insanity, a behind-the-scenes look at the chaotic peak of the Hacienda, the creation of three more classic albums Brotherhood (1986), Technique (1989), Republic (1993) and a certain timeless soccer World Cup anthem… “World In Motion.”

Speaking about New Order’s career to date, singer Bernard Sumner says, “if you do it the way everyone else does it, you might have more success. But it'll be a short burn, whereas with the way New Order did it, it made us more interesting. But it wasn't intentional, though, we just did what we wanted to do and didn't really listen to anyone.”

On New Order’s 80s success in the US, drummer Stephen Morris shares, “America had never heard of Joy Division. In England and Europe at the time, there was still this thing where you get people coming to see you, expecting you to play ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart.’ Whereas in America, they would approach you with an open mind, and the fact that the audiences did get bigger justified our bloody-mindedness with not being Joy Division…”

Keyboardist Gillian Gilbert, on experiencing the US music industry, “I don't know what they thought of us. Rob [Gretton, manager] was always, ‘You shouldn't single out one person as the main focus, even Ian.  You’re all the same.’ We were all on the same level. So I don't know what they made of us. They used to turn up in suits. That was the main thing you'd see. All really smart record guys in suits.”

Peter Hook on how their club The Hacienda, anticipated the coming rave music scene. “Watching the Hacienda and watching Rob and Mike Pickering's belief in Detroit and Chicago House in 1983, 84, all the way through nights that they put on with exactly the same DJs in 91, in 83! They believed in the music a long time before Ecstasy swept it along in its tidal wave.”

Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins:  I was at a club. So I'm standing there, and it's a normal night. And for the first time, here comes the kick drum for Blue Monday. As the kick drum hit, everybody in the club started running to the dance floor. Running. So it instantly went from like 30 people to 300 in seconds. And I'm like, ‘What is happening?’ I'm getting chills even just thinking about the moment. And it was like, Oh my God, I'm hearing a song I will hear for the rest of my life. I saw my generation go, ‘This is the song.’

DJ Paulette: “New Order gave Manchester a place to socialize. A place to dream. Music to have babies by. Meet their friends by. Gigs to remember for the rest of their lives. Record collections to treasure. It's like New Order have given people in Manchester everything, everything.”

Tom Rowlands, The Chemical Brothers, “I think the key to them is the strength of the individual voices in the band. And each individual voice being so recognisable on the record. It’s insane, really, they get it all to fit into these songs, every single person in that band has a voice that would carry a whole other band.”

New episodes will be released weekly via Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, Stitcher, and wherever you get your podcasts.

About Transmissions: The Definitive Story of Joy Division & New Order

Both seasons were produced by Cup & Nuzzle, the team behind the award-winning Eras: The Beatles for BBC Radio 2, Arctic Monkeys: Believe The Hype for BBC Radio 1, Robert Plant’s hugely successful podcast Digging Deep and many more. New episodes will be released weekly via Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, Stitcher, and wherever you get your podcasts.

About New Order

From the ashes of legendary band Joy Division, New Order triumphed over tragedy to emerge as one of the most influential and acclaimed bands of all time.

After Ian Curtis tragically took his own life, Bernard Sumner (keyboardist and guitarist), Peter Hook (bassist) and Stephen Morris (drummer) re-formed the same year as New Order, with the addition of Gillian Gilbert (keyboardist and guitarist) and Sumner taking over as vocalist.

Their debut Movement (1981) was overshadowed by the sound of Joy Division; going forward, the band combined post-punk with influences from New York’s club scene, the result was Power, Corruption & Lies (1983). 1983 also saw the release of “Blue Monday,” which became the best-selling 12-inch single of all time, selling over 3 million copies worldwide.

New Order then released the albums Low-Life (1985), Brotherhood (1986), Substance (1987) and Technique (1989). Between several brief hiatuses and line-up alterations, Republic (1993), Get Ready (2001) and Waiting for the Sirens’ Call (2005) came out before Peter Hook’s departure in 2007.

Phil Cunningham joined the band in 2001, followed by Tom Chapman as bass player in 2011.

The band released their critically acclaimed tenth studio album, Music Complete, in 2015, featuring guest vocals from Iggy Pop, Brandon Flowers and Elly Jackson of La Roux.

Never resting on their legacy, New Order continue to perform live around the world, playing some of the biggest shows of their career to date, including to over 20,000 people in Manchester’s Wythenshawe Park last month.
