Simple Plan Release Limited-Edition Career-Spanning Vinyl Box Set

Exclusive Color Variants Of Each Album Available

JULY 22, 2024—Canadian punk-rockers Simple Plan are releasing a limited-edition career-spanning box set filled with fan favorites and rare tracks.

The signed set includes the band's six studio albums, each pressed on color vinyl, alongside a selection of B-Sides and Christmas classics. No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls (2002) on red marble vinyl, Still Not Getting Any (2004) on dark blue marble vinyl, Simple Plan (2008) on pink marble vinyl, Get Your Heart On! (2011) on light blue marble vinyl, Taking One For The Team (2016) on orange marble vinyl, and Harder Than It Looks (2022) on grey marble vinyl.

The B-Sides record is exclusive to this box set and is pressed on clear vinyl. It includes never before pressed tracks, like “Where I Belong,” featuring State Champs and We The Kings, the hit TV show theme song “What’s New Scooby-Doo?” and fan-favorite rarities “Crash and Burn” and “Never Should Have Let You Go” from the vault.  An exclusive 7-inch is also included in this set, featuring the holiday tracks “Christmas Every Day” and “My Christmas List” pressed on green and red splatter vinyl.

The Simple Plan Collection Box Set is limited to 1500 copies, signed by the entire band, and will be shipped to fans in mid September, exclusively at officialsimpleplan.com. Beyond the box set, the individual studio albums will be available in two vinyl variants selected by the band exclusively at officialsimpleplan.com. Another exclusive color variant will be available through the Alternative Press store to coincide with a Simple Plan Special Collector’s Edition Magazine.

Of the release, the band says, “As we celebrate 25 years together as a band, it felt like the perfect moment to release this very special and exclusive box set and offer our most devoted fans a full retrospective of our career. Some of our albums have never been available on vinyl before or have been extremely difficult to find so it’s really exciting to finally give our fans something they have been requesting for years and to do it in such a cool and unique way.

A lot of care and attention to detail went into the creation of this box set and the vinyl releases. We obsessed about everything, from creating high-quality packaging to choosing the perfect color variants and curating the song selection for the exclusive B-sides LP. Everything had to be just right and we couldn’t be more proud of how it all came together. It’s kinda wild to think that our band is now at a stage where releasing an anthology like this is even possible. To all our die-hard fans, thank you for all your incredible support and we hope you will enjoy this collection!”

Simple Plan’s debut record, No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls is a hit-filled anthemic pop-punk staple, still resonating with fans today. Narrowing in on the trials and tribulations of adolescents, the double-platinum album boasts the singles “I’m Just A Kid” and “Perfect,” both certified platinum. Their sophomore release, Still Not Getting Any, which has never been released on vinyl before, saw Simple Plan inching closer to the spotlight. Debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, the record sold over 139,000 copies in its first week, with a string of successful singles, including “Welcome to My Life” landing at No. 10 on the Top 40 chart.

Simple Plan, which has been out of print on vinyl for years, and is a rare find now, marked a shift to a more mature sound, featuring heartfelt tracks like "When I'm Gone" and "Save You," a touching tribute to Bouvier's brother who was battling cancer. This album earned a Juno Award nomination for Best Album and has become a fan favorite over the years. Get Your Heart On!, the band’s fourth studio album, which has never been pressed on vinyl before, was met with a positive critical and commercial response, with the band staying faithful to their pop-punk roots. The record featured single “Summer Paradise” and had several collaborators such as Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, Natasha Bedingfield, and more.

Taking One for the Team earned the band their fourth consecutive Top 5 and a perfect streak of Top 10s for their first five studio albums on the Canadian Albums Chart. This album features the single “Boom!” with its music video full of cameo appearances by various Warped Tour artists. Marking two decades together, in 2022, Simple Plan released Harder Than It LooksThe album continues to showcase the band’s authentic and raw take on pop-punk lyrically and musically with tracks like “Ruin My Life” featuring Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley and “The Antidote.”

It’s My Life (40th Anniversary Edition) Half-Speed Master

Releasing October 4

LOS ANGELES—In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Talk Talk’s iconic It’s My Life album, it has been cut at Half-Speed by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios, overseen by Talk Talk drummer Lee Harris and Charlie Hollis, son of Mark Hollis, giving the album a greater depth. The 180-gram black vinyl will be released alongside a CD reissue in new card packaging on October 4.

Originally released in February 1984, It’s My Life is the band's second album, following the 1982 release of their debut The Party’s Over which initially received moderate success in the UK reaching No. 21 in the UK chart and finding some global success.

By the time they came to writing and recording It’s My Life, the band had gone from a four-piece to a three-piece, with Simon Brenner leaving. The album initially found considerable international success. “Such A Shame,” the album's first single, was a Top-10 hit across Europe, and the album’s title track entered the global Top 40 chart, including in the US.

Interestingly, the album and singles from this album were largely ignored in the UK at the time, but their legacy and importance as a band have blossomed since, and they can count Radiohead, Blur, Elbow and St. Vincent amongst their fans. Where the UK didn’t connect with it at first, the rest of the world did, and in time, this infiltrated the UK, and they were eventually embraced maybe in part to covers from Eurodance groups Gigabyte and Scanner but possibly most of all by the Gwen Stafani fronted No Doubt finding huge global success with their cover of “It’s My Life” in 2003.

13 Studio Albums To Be Reissued On 180g Vinyl Worldwide

Albums Will Arrive In Three Waves Staring On August 23

LOS ANGELES –This summer, 13 Genesis studio albums released between 1971 and 1997 will be reissued on vinyl worldwide.

Pressed on 180g vinyl, the reissues—featuring Nick Davis mixed and remastered versions—will be available in three waves. They begin on August 23 with FoxtrotThe Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (2LP), Duke, Abacab, and Genesis. On September 6, Nursery CrymeSelling England By The PoundWind & WutheringWe Can’t Dance (2LP), and Calling All Stations (2LP) will be released. The series concludes on September 27 with A Trick Of The Tail, ...And Then There Were Three…and Invisible Touch

The albums follow the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers’ journey to become one of the best-selling bands in the world. Formed in 1967 by school friends Peter Gabriel, Tony BanksAnthony Phillips, and Mike Rutherford, the band’s lineup solidified in the early ’70s with the addition of drummer Phil Collins and guitarist Steve Hackett. They established themselves as prog-rock innovators with albums like Selling England by the Pound (1973).

After Gabriel’s departure in 1975, Collins took over as frontman, and by the late ’70s, the band had transformed into a pop-oriented trio, scoring hits with “Follow You Follow Me” and “Misunderstanding” from ...And Then There Were Three... (1978) and Duke (1980).

Each member pursued successful solo careers in the ’80s while Genesis dominated international charts with a string of six platinum and multi-platinum albums, including Abacab, Genesis, and Invisible Touch. In 1991, We Can’t Dance marked Collins’ final studio album with the band. Banks and Rutherford returned in 1997 with singer Ray Wilson for Calling All Stations, the group’s final studio album.

Nursery Cryme (1971) featured the debut of Collins and Hackett and established the band’s signature sound with intricate musical passages and theatrical storytelling on “The Musical Box” and “The Return of the Giant Hogweed.”

Foxtrot (1972) remains a landmark in prog rock and includes the epic “Supper's Ready,” a 23-minute suite showcasing Genesis’ ambitious compositional style and lyrical depth.

Selling England By The Pound (1973) is widely regarded as one of the band’s finest, combining lyrics about English life with complex, melodic instrumentation on songs like “Dancing With The Moonlit Knight” and “Firth Of Fifth” with its iconic piano introduction.

The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway (1974) is a double concept album that tells the surreal story of Rael using elaborate sounds and lyrical imagery. It was Gabriel’s final album with Genesis and features experimental tracks like “In The Cage” and the haunting “Carpet Crawlers.”

A Trick Of The Tail (1976), the first with Collins on vocals, maintained the band’s progressive rock tradition with virtuosic playing on “Dancing On A Volcano” while highlighting its melodic sensibility on “Ripples” and “Entangled.”

Wind & Wuthering (1976), the last with Hackett, demonstrated the band’s ability to craft intricate, emotionally resonant songs like “Blood On The Rooftops” and “One For The Vine.”

...And Then There Were Three… (1978), the first album released as a trio, retained some progressive rock elements but marked a shift toward a more accessible sound. The single “Follow You Follow Me” became the band’s first major hit.

Duke (1980) offered an ambitious blend of prog rock and pop sensibilities on the hit singles “Duchess,” “Misunderstanding,” and “Turn It On Again.” It was the band’s first No. 1 album in the U.K., reaching No. 11 in America.

Abacab (1981) marked a significant stylistic shift as Genesis embraced a more radio-friendly sound and leaner production. It yielded three Top 40 hits in the U.S. with “Abacab,” “Man On The Corner,” and “No Reply At All,” which featured the horn section from Earth, Wind & Fire.

Genesis (1983) captured the group’s evolving sound, mixing pop and rock with darker themes on singles like “Mama,” “That’s All,” and “Taking It All Too Hard.” The album reached No. 1 in the U.K. and was certified 4x platinum in the U.S.

Invisible Touch (1986) was Genesis’ most commercially successful album, peaking at No. 4 in America, where it is certified 6x platinum. The title track was a No. 1 hit in the U.S., while “In Too Deep,” “Land Of Confusion,” and “Tonight, Tonight, Tonight” were all Top 5 hits.

We Can’t Dance (1991), the final album with Collins, ended an era for the band on a high note, becoming Genesis’ fifth consecutive No. 1 album in the U.K. and being certified 4x platinum in America. The hits continued with “No Son Of Mine,” “Hold On My Heart,” and the GRAMMY®-Award nominated “I Can’t Dance.”

Calling All Stations (1997), Genesis’ only album with singer Ray Wilson, explored a darker, more atmospheric direction. The album’s standout tracks include “Congo,” “Shipwrecked,” and the title track.

Genesis’ generation-spanning catalog includes 15 studio albums, six live LPs, and dozens of charting singles. In addition to its 2010 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the band has received a coveted Ivor Novello Award, a GRAMMY®, an American Music Award, and the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award at Britain’s Progressive Music Awards.
