BARENAKED LADIES: ORIGINAL HITS, ORIGINAL STARS

The Multi-Platinum Band’s Hits Are Available On Vinyl For First Time!

Available Tomorrow, October 4

LOS ANGELES – Barenaked Ladies will release their first-ever vinyl hits collection tomorrow as the group celebrates more than three decades of chart success. The 12-song compilation includes the multi-platinum band’s biggest singles, as well as their theme to the television series The Big Bang Theory, which is making its vinyl debut. ORIGINAL HITS, ORIGINAL STARS will be released tomorrow, on October 4 for $19.98.

“We’ve had many hits, and I believe they are all truly great. These however...are the Greatest,” says lead singer, guitarist, and song-writer, Ed Robertson. The song selection spans Barenaked Ladies’ career and includes “If I Had $1000000” from the group’s July 1992 major-label debut, Gordon.  The album was certified gold in the U.S and diamond in their native Canada. The following year, Gordon garnered them the Juno Award for Group of the Year – the first of eight Juno Awards Barenaked Ladies have won to date. The band was also inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2018.

ORIGINAL HITS, ORIGINAL STARS features early favorites like “The Old Apartment” from 1996’s Born On A Pirate Ship and a live version of “Brian Wilson,” which appeared on the concert album Rock Spectacle (1996), the band’s first platinum-selling album in the U.S. Much of ORIGINAL HITS, ORIGINAL STARS draws on the critical and commercial success Barenaked Ladies enjoyed with Stunt (1998) and Maroon (2000). Stunt was certified 4x platinum in the U.S. and included “It’s All Been Done” and the Grammy-nominated international smash, “One Week,” which reached the #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart on October 17, 1998. Maroon, another U.S. platinum-selling release, included “Falling For The First Time” and the Grammy-nominated single “Pinch Me.”  This album also features “Easy” from 2006’s Barenaked Ladies Are Me, “You Run Away” from 2010’s All in Good Time and “Odds Are” from 2013’s Grinning Streak.

The band hit the road this summer with Hootie & the Blowfish on an extensive 44-city North American tour. Billboard notes, “Barenaked Ladies may have opened the show, but its headliner status was undeniable Saturday night…the group proved to be seasoned entertainers and a dream support act.”  More fantastic quotes about the tour below:

If the show had ended after the Ladies’ hourlong set, it still would’ve been money well spent. But combining that with nearly two hours of Hootie? Even if you DID have $1,000,000, you couldn’t buy a better concert. – Cleveland.com

This was one of those two for the price of one concerts as not one, but two headliners came to town… This was one of the biggest crowds we've ever seen there. – mlive.com

You can tell how a concert is going to be at the AMP by how quickly your cell phone stops working because of tower overload. Mine was already a paperweight at 7:15 p.m., even before opening act The Barenaked Ladies took the stage. – fayettevilleflyer.com

(Barenaked Ladies) have perfected their harmonies and playing over the years, but it’s their stage presence that really lifts them above most bands. – nysmusic.com

Hootie & the Blowfish and the Barenaked Ladies dropped a tight, well-rehearsed three-plus hours of hits and under-appreciated album cuts on a sold out Bridgestone Arena.  – tasteofcountry.com

A new incarnation of Fleetwood Mac debuted in the summer of 1975 that included Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Christine McVie, along with new members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. The group’s first album together, Fleetwood Mac (sometimes called “The White Album”), topped the Billboard album chart, spent more than a year in the Top 40 and sold more than five million copies in the U.S. thanks to songs like “Landslide,” “Say You Love Me,” and “Rhiannon.”

In 1977, the band followed up with Rumours, considered by many to be among the greatest albums of all time. It won the Grammy® for Album of the Year and has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. Its unforgettable tracks include: “Go Your Own Way,” “Gold Dust Woman” and the band’s first number one smash, “Dreams.”

The Grammy®-nominated double-album Tusk arrived in 1979. It sold more than four million copies worldwide and introduced fans to hits like “Sara,” “Think About Me,” and the title track. Three years later, in 1982, Fleetwood Mac again topped the U.S. Album Chart for five weeks with Mirage. Along with hits like “Hold Me” and “Gypsy,” Mirage also features great album tracks like “Oh Diane” and “Straight Back.”

In 1987, Tango in the Night became the second-most successful album of the band’s career, selling more than 15 million copies worldwide with the massive hits “Everywhere,” “Big Love” and “Little Lies.”

OL’ DIRTY BASTARD N***A PLEASE
20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Deluxe Edition Of The Influential Rapper’s Second Solo Album Is Available Now Digitally Including The Digital Debut Of Four Remixes Of “Got Your Money”

LOS ANGELES – Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s N***a Please turns 20 this month and Rhino is celebrating with a new digital-only version of the beloved rapper’s second consecutive gold-certified solo album.

N***A PLEASE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION is available today on all digital download and streaming services. The collection includes the original album’s 13 tracks along with the digital debut of four remixes of its breakout single “Got Your Money.”

O.D.B. released N***a Please on September 14, 1999, four years after making his solo debut with the Grammy®-nominated Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version. When it was released, N***a Please debuted at #10 on the Billboard 200 and was quickly certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The album includes some of the early production work of The Neptunes (Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo), including “Recognize,” “Cold Blooded” and “Got Your Money.” The latter became the album’s biggest hit and featured a memorable chorus sung by Kelis.

N***A PLEASE: 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION includes four versions of “Got Your Money” that have never been released digitally. In addition to an instrumental version of the track and the Oxide Remix, the collection also features two mixes by British producer DJ Dee Kline.

The original album also includes a number of tracks produced by RZA, who – along with O.D.B. – was one of the founding members of Wu-Tang Clan, one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time. RZA produced the album’s title track, in addition to “I Want P***y” and “Cracker Jack.”

Sadly, N***a Please would be the last solo album that Ol’ Dirty Bastard would release before he passed away in November 2004, just two days before his 36th birthday.
