THE REPLACEMENTS TO RELEASE
FIRST OFFICIAL LIVE ALBUM
(RECORDED IN FRONT OF MORE THAN 30 PEOPLE)

For Sale: Live At Maxwell’s 1986 Marks The Official Debut Of
The Quartet’s Legendary Show In Hoboken In Its Entirety

CD, Vinyl, And Digital Versions Will Be Available From Rhino On October 6

LOS ANGELES – In February 1986, The Replacements performed a classic live show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ. That night, a 24-track mobile studio was on hand to record the quartet as they careened through a 29-song marathon that mixed tracks from all of the band’s albums to date with B-sides and covers. Until now, that pristine recording of the legendary performance has only been available in low-quality bootleg form. Even so, Pitchfork has called the show “a fiery, focused set that would make a true believer out of any skeptic.”

On October 6, FOR SALE: LIVE AT MAXWELL’S 1986 will finally make its commercial debut as a two-disc set ($19.98) and a double-LP ($29.98). The music will also be available on digital download and streaming services. This marks the first live album by the band to see an official release on any of these formats. Their infamous 1985 live release The Shit Hits The Fans, famously recorded with an audience of roughly 30 people, was only available on cassette. The set also includes new liner notes by Bob Mehr, author of the New York Times bestseller Trouble Boys: The True Story Of The Replacements, as well as never-before-seen photos from the Maxwell’s show by noted music writer and photographer Caryn Rose.

Paul Westerberg, Bob Stinson, his brother Tommy Stinson, and Chris Mars made their major-label debut in October 1985 with the release of Tim on Sire/Warner Bros. When the acclaimed album reached the charts in January, the band was preparing to perform on “Saturday Night Live” — where they would later be banned for life for using profanity live on air — before launching a short East Coast tour that included the show in Hoboken.

The show at Maxwell’s would prove to be one of the last great performances by the four original members of the Replacements, a much beloved line-up including Bob Stinson on guitar, before his departure from the band in 1986. The songs they played spanned the band’s entire history while giving prominence to new material from Tim, including “Bastards Of Young,” “Left Of The Dial” and “Kiss Me On The Bus.” Mixed in were favorites like “I Will Dare” from Let It Be (1984) and “Color Me Impressed” from Hootenanny (1983). But it was songs from the band’s first album — Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash (1981) — that seemed to summon their best on furious versions of “Takin’ A Ride” and “I’m In Trouble.”

The original 24-track master tapes of the show sat in the Warner Music vaults until being given a proper mix in 2007, but it would still be another decade before the concert would get its official release. Mehr writes in the album’s liner notes: “Now, a decade later, and more than 30 years after the original concert, Replacements For Sale finally offers high-fidelity proof of the peculiar alchemy and unadulterated majesty of one of rock and roll’s greatest bands.”

SEPULTURA: CHAOS A.D. AND ROOTS EXPANDED EDITIONS

CD And Vinyl Sets Feature Newly Remastered Versions Of The Original Albums Expanded With Rare And Unreleased Studio And Live Recordings

Available This Fall From Rhino

LOS ANGELES – Sepultura broadened its musical horizons with Chaos A.D. and Roots, a pair of acclaimed albums that took the Brazilian band’s hard-rocking sound in bold and exciting new directions. This fall, Rhino will revisit those back-to-back classics with remastered versions that are expanded with rare and unreleased studio and live recordings.

CHAOS A.D.: EXPANDED EDITION will be available on October 13 and ROOTS: EXPANDED EDITION will be available on November 3, both as double-disc sets for $19.98 each. Double-LP versions, with similar track listings, will also be available for $31.98 each.

Founded in 1984 by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera, Sepultura soon became an influential force in heavy metal music thanks to its dynamic studio recordings and intense live performances. The band has sold nearly 20 million albums worldwide, including more than three million in the United States.

Sepultura was in the midst of a creative and commercial peak in 1993 when it released Chaos A.D. The album ushered in a more groove-based sound on songs like the singles “Refuse/Resist,” “Territory” and “Slave New World.”

CHAOS A.D.: EXPANDED EDITION includes a newly remastered version of the original album along with 17 bonus tracks. Among the highlights are a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Symptom Of The Universe” that was originally issued as a B-side, plus nine scorching live versions of album tracks like “Territory” and “Biotech Is Godzilla.” Also featured are several unreleased instrumental tracks that the band used during writing sessions for “Clenched Fist” and “Propaganda.”

Three years after Chaos A.D., the band returned with Roots, an album that was deeply influenced by Brazilian rhythms, which were incorporated into tracks like “Itsári” and “Ratamahatta.” Since its release in 1996, the album has sold more than two million copies worldwide.

ROOTS: EXPANDED EDITION features a newly remastered version of the original album, plus 17 bonus tracks. Standouts include demos for “Dusted” and “Roots Bloody Roots,” instrumental versions of “Dictatorshit” and “Cutthroat,” a version of “Attitude” recorded live at Ozzfest, and the unreleased first take of “Kaiowas.”

THE SISTERS OF MERCY

Four LP Boxed Set Spotlights The Group's
Early Years With Singles, EPs And More

180-Gram Vinyl and Digital Versions Available On September 1

LOS ANGELES - The Sisters of Mercy will continue to spotlight different eras of its acclaimed discography this summer with a new vinyl boxed set that focuses on the band's early years.

Available on September 1, SOME GIRLS WANDER BY MISTAKE includes four 180-gram LPs for $79.98. In addition, the music will also be released digitally. The Sisters of Mercy, led by co-founder Andrew Eldritch, will tour Europe this September. A complete list of those tour dates are listed below.

Originally released in 1992, SOME GIRLS WANDER BY MISTAKE retraces the Sisters of Mercy's formative years and its rise to cult acclaim. It includes three songs the group originally issued in 1980: "The Damage Done," "Watch" and "Home Of The Hit-Men." Also included in this set is the band's 1982 follow-up single: "Body Electric" and "Adrenochrome."

Arranged in non-chronological order, SOME GIRLS WANDER BY MISTAKE begins with all four songs from The Sisters of Mercy's first EP Alice, which was originally released in 1983. The music - produced by Psychedelic Furs' guitarist John Ashton - includes the EP's title track, a cover of the Stooges "1969" and more.

The first LP's flipside collects music that originally appeared on the Sisters of Mercy's second EP, The Reptile House (1983). Among the EP's six tracks are "Kiss The Carpet," "Burn," and the haunting "Lights." Later that year the band released the single "Temple of Love" backed with "Heartland" and a cover the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter," all of which are included here.

SOME GIRLS WANDER BY MISTAKE also includes music from two 12" singles. The first is a re-recorded version of "Temple of Love" from 1992 that features Israeli vocalist Ofra Haza, and remains the Sisters' biggest international hit, peaking at #3 on the UK charts. The second is "Under The Gun," which includes an updated version of "Alice."

This collection's title comes from a lyric in the Leonard Cohen song "Teachers," a track the Sisters cover frequently in concert. In fact, "Teachers" appears on the same album as the song "Sisters of Mercy," which inspired the band's name.

LOS ANGELES - Parlophone Records are proud to announce DAVID BOWIE A NEW CAREER IN A NEW TOWN (1977-1982), the third in a series of boxed sets spanning his career from 1969.

The follow up to the award winning and critically acclaimed David Bowie Five Years (1969 - 1973) and David Bowie Who Can I Be Now? (1974 - 1976) will be released on September 29 and will contain a brand new remix of the 1979 album Lodger by long time Bowie producer/collaborator Tony Visconti.

The eleven-CD box, thirteen-piece vinyl set and the Mastered For iTunes and standard digital download sets feature all of the material officially released by Bowie between 1977 and 1982. It includes the so-called "Berlin Trilogy" of albums on which he collaborated with Visconti and Brian Eno as well as the Baal E.P., appearing here for the very first time in its entirety on CD, and is closed by Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps).

The boxed set, named after a track from the first of the so-called "Berlin Trilogy" Low, includes Low, "Heroes," Stage (Original and 2017 Versions), the former in the vinyl box will be pressed on yellow vinyl, replicating its original limited edition U.K. release and the latter of which featuring two previously unreleased tracks, Lodger, Lodger (Tony Visconti 2017 Mix), Scary Monsters (And Super Creeps), Re:Call 3 (featuring contemporary single versions, non-album singles, b-sides and songs featured on soundtracks) and the "Heroes" E.P., a compilation exclusive to the set celebrating the 40th anniversary of the song, which rounds up the German and French album and single versions of the track in one place for the first time.

Exclusive to each of the boxed sets is Lodger (Tony Visconti 2017 Mix). The remix was started with David's blessing before his passing in January last year. Tony Visconti has revisited the original multi-tracks at Human Studios and remixed the album with the benefit of modern technology to better highlight the album's nuances. Always a personal favorite of David's, this version of the album will also feature newly "remixed" artwork featuring unseen images from the original cover photographic session from the archive of the Estate of photographer Duffy, working closely with his son Chris.

Also exclusive to each box is Re:Call 3, a new compilation featuring remastered contemporary single versions, non-album singles and b-sides, and songs featured on soundtracks. The cover features a photo by Christian Simonpietri taken at Hansa Studios in Berlin during the "Heroes" sessions in 1977. The Baal E.P. in its entirety is making its CD debut while "Beauty And The Beast" (extended version) and "Breaking Glass" (Australian single version) are making their debuts on CD and digitally.

"Beauty And The Beast" (extended version) is available now as digital download upon pre-order of the boxed set. This version of the "Heroes" album track is making its digital and CD debut having previously only been available on a rare US promo 12" and as a limited 12" release in Spain.

The physical boxed set's accompanying book, 128 pages in the CD box and 84 in the vinyl set, will feature rarely seen and previously unpublished photos by photographers including Anton Corbijn, Helmut Newton, Andrew Kent, Steve Schapiro, Duffy, and many others as well as historical press reviews and technical notes about the albums from producer Tony Visconti.

The CD boxed set will include faithfully reproduced mini-vinyl versions of the original albums, and the CDs will be gold colored rather than the usual silver. The vinyl boxed set has the same content as the CD set and is pressed on audiophile quality 180g vinyl.

*A NEW CAREER IN A NEW TOWN (1977-1982) will also be made available in High Definition audio digital formats (192kHZ/24bit and 96kHZ/24bit). Content varies from other formats due to the resolution of the available original source material.
