LOS ANGELES – Pantera’s studio albums will make their picture-disc debuts in a new 5-LP boxed set that spotlights the band’s everlasting mark on the metal scene.

THE COMPLETE STUDIO ALBUMS 1990-2000 (picture discs) will be available exclusively online at Rhino.com and indie retailers on July 21, limited to 3,500 copies worldwide ($149.98). Each picture disc features the cover image from the original album. The career-spanning set also comes with a poster featuring all four members. Pre-order HERE.

The hard-hitting collection unleashes a decade’s worth of Pantera’s inimitable sound and fury from Philip Anselmo, Dimebag Darrell, Rex Brown, and Vinnie Paul. Including the double platinum –Cowboys from Hell (1990) and Vulgar Display of Power (1992) – platinum albums Far Beyond Driven (1994) and The Great Southern Trendkill (1996) – and the gold-certified record, Reinventing the Steel (2000).

Cowboys from Hell debuted in 1990 and is the album that made Pantera heroes to headbangers everywhere. After peaking at #27 on the Billboard 200, the album went on to become one of the most influential metal albums of all time and was recently certified double platinum.

Vulgar Display of Power arrived in 1992 and refined the band’s heavier-than-heavy aesthetic with songs like “Mouth For War” while simultaneously showcasing the group’s musical range on the haunting ballad “Hollow.” The album was certified double platinum and spent 79 weeks on the Billboard 200, longer than any other Pantera album.

The band’s success continued in 1994 with Far Beyond Driven, the most extreme album to ever debut at #1 on the Billboard charts. Several tracks became fan favorites, including “5 Minutes Alone” and a cover of Black Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan.” The single “I’m Broken” was nominated for the GrammyÒ Award for Best Metal Performance - the first of four Grammy® nominations the band would earn.

The Great Southern Trendkill was released in 1996 and peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200. The platinum-certified album contains some of Pantera’s darkest lyrics and fastest tempos, including “Suicide Note Pt. II,” nominated for the Grammy® Award for Best Metal Performance. Guitar World magazine ranked Dimebag’s solo on “Floods” at #32 on its list of the greatest guitar solos of all time.

Pantera’s final studio album, Reinventing the Steel, came out in 2000. The record peaked at #4 and was certified gold. The album features classics like “Goddamn Electric” and the Grammy® Award-nominated single “Revolution Is My Name.”

ZIGGY STARDUST AND THE SPIDERS FROM MARS THE MOTION PICTURE (50th ANNIVERSARY)

The Legendary Last Ever Ziggy Stardust Show Made Available In Full For The First Time

Digitally Restored With Remastered Audio Available August 11 On 2CD/Blu-Ray, 2CD, 2LP Limited Edition Gold Set And Digital

LOS ANGELES – On July 3, 1973, David Bowie retired Ziggy Stardust, his most famous alter-ego, in front of 5,000 stunned fans at London’s Hammersmith Odeon. Now, the fully restored film and soundtrack will be released for the first time for the 50th anniversary of the show. Renowned filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker (Monterey Pop, Bob Dylan - Don’t Look Back, Depeche Mode - 101) captured the momentous event by filming Bowie and The Spiders From Mars backstage and onstage. The digital restoration of the new version of the film has been overseen by his son, Frazer Pennebaker, with remastered audio.

Although filmed 50 years ago, the film was not widely seen for over a decade. However, the film and its soundtrack have been newly remastered with the medley of “The Jean Genie/Love Me Do” medley and “Round And Round” featuring the late legendary Jeff Beck - the latter track making its very first appearance anywhere. Both performances have been newly mixed by long-time Bowie collaborator Tony Visconti.

The show featured Bowie’s famous speech just before the final encore, “Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide,” where he revealed that he was retiring the Ziggy Stardust persona. The shocking announcement was a surprise to all in attendance – including members of his band and was the first proclamation of its kind in rock and roll.

Fifty years later, Ziggy will finally go global with a digitally restored version of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture showing at over 1000 cinemas worldwide.

The Eventim Apollo Hammersmith (formerly the Odeon) will host the global premiere of the newly restored version of the film on June 3, fifty years to the day. The evening will also include an on-stage conversation with Bowie collaborators and contemporary musicians that will precede the film screening. They will address the original show’s legacy and Ziggy’s pan-generational resonance.

ALANIS MORISSETTE

The Collection

Grammy®-Winning Singer’s 2005 Greatest Hits Collection Makes Its Vinyl Debut On August 25

Transparent Grape-Vinyl Version Available Exclusively From Target

LOS ANGELES – Today, internationally renowned singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette celebrates her birthday. Nearly two decades ago, she released her jampacked greatest hits CD, The Collection, which will see its vinyl debut this summer.

THE COLLECTION will be available on August 25 as a 2-LP ($34.98) on black vinyl. A transparent grape-vinyl version ($34.98) will be available the same day exclusively from Target, as well as a crystal-clear version at your local indie retailer.

THE COLLECTION covers the seven-time Grammy® Award-winner’s career between 1995 and 2005, when the Canadian popstar first broke out in the States. It includes a handful of Morissette’s well-known singles, several soundtrack selections, and her performance of Seal’s hit “Crazy,” which debuted on THE COLLECTION in 2005.

Five songs from her #1 album, Jagged Little Pill (1995), appear on the set, including the smash singles “You Oughta Know,” “Ironic,” and “You Learn.” The album catapulted Morissette to global stardom, earning her five Grammy® awards, including Album of the Year. The record was certified 16x platinum, selling over 33 million copies worldwide. It is the 16th best-selling album of all time in the U.S. and the third best-selling album by a female artist.

Morissette returned in 1998 with the triple-platinum album Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie, which is represented on THE COLLECTION by a trio of songs, including the Top 20 hit “Thank You.” “Hands Clean” from her 2002 platinum album, Under Rug Swept, is featured along with “Eight Easy Steps” from 2004’s So-Called Chaos.

Several songs on THE COLLECTION weren’t released on Morissette’s studio albums, like “Princes Familiar” from her 1999 gold-certified MTV Unplugged album and “Sister Blister” from the 2002 compilation Feast on Scraps. A few of the singer’s soundtrack contributions are featured here, including “Still” from Kevin Smith’s 1999 film, Dogma, where Morissette played the role of God.
