LOS ANGELES - When Depeche Mode entered the scene with the release of the group's first single "Dreaming of Me" / "Ice Machine" on February 20, 1981, it laid the groundwork for one of the most transformative career paths in contemporary music. Depeche Mode combined elements of new wave pop, dance, rock, blues and electronic music to create emotional soundscapes for the future and the 12" vinyl single - with superior sound and deeper grooves favored by dance club DJs and fans alike - proved the perfect sonic medium for the band's sweeping vision.

Depeche Mode realized the format's potential and embraced the power of 12" vinyl and the avenues of innovation it opened up. The 12" single allowed the band to explore new sonic possibilities while the physical beauty of the packaging gave Depeche Mode room to develop a sophisticated and commanding visual aesthetic. Depeche Mode used their singles discography as a means of offering left field remixes and other delights for their fans.

Each boxed set in the series will contain the singles from each Depeche Mode album on audiophile-quality 12" vinyl, with audio remastered from the original tapes and cut at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. The artwork for the exterior of each of the new boxed sets draws on street art iconography inspired by the original releases, while the vinyl sleeves themselves feature the original vinyl single artwork.

The Depeche Mode 12" singles series will continue over the coming years, with plans to release boxes containing the singles from each of the band's albums in similar deluxe audiophile-grade collector's editions. These first two boxed sets will be released by Rhino on August 31, 2018 and will be available for a retail price of $59.98.  

Depeche Mode is currently in the midst of the Global Spirit Tour, a worldwide concert tour that started in May 2017 and will finish this summer with a pair of shows at the Waldbühne in Berlin on July 23 and 25. In all, the 15-month Global Spirit Tour will see the band play to over 3 million fans across Europe, North America and South America.

As part of the Depeche Mode's ongoing charity partnership with Swiss watchmaker Hublot for the benefit of charity: water, a global non-profit bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries, a special limited-edition series of watches inspired by the band's 55 singles are also being released. Each watch will be unique, with one watch made for each single, incorporating the artwork from the single into the design of the watch. Each watch will come housed in a custom Rimowa suitcase containing the watch, a Roland JP-08 synthesizer, a copy of the corresponding vinyl single, and a certificate of authenticity signed by the band. LOS ANGELES - Circles Around The Sun explore new horizons on the band's upcoming double album, Let It Wander. It's the first new music from the quartet since their acclaimed 2015 debut, Interludes For The Dead.

LET IT WANDER will be available August 17 on CD for $24.98. A limited-edition vinyl version of the double album will be released the same day for $39.98. All of the music will be available via digital download and streaming services. Hear the new track "Immovable Object" HERE.

Guitarist Neal Casal, keyboardist Adam MacDougall (his bandmate in the Chris Robinson Brotherhood), bassist Dan Horne and drummer Mark Levy recorded seven instrumentals for LET IT WANDER earlier this year at Castaway 7 Studios in California.

Originally, Circles Around the Sun (CATS) was only supposed to record some Grateful Dead-influenced instrumentals to be played during the set breaks at the Dead's "Fare Thee Well" concerts. But the response was so positive, and the band was having so much fun making music together, that they all agreed to keep it going.

LET IT WANDER signals a new beginning for the band as they move beyond their original musical mandate of evoking the spirit of the Dead and fully embrace their own personality. "More than anything, what you hear on this album is a band growing into its own sound," Casal says.

The songs on LET IT WANDER are focused and filled with imaginative musical turns. Horne and Levy form a veritable groove machine that knows intuitively when to tighten up and when to stretch out. They expand and collapse the rhythmic pocket around Casal and MacDougall, who pass melodies back and forth in an elaborate game of musical tag as they take turns adding color and shade from a seemingly endless kaleidoscope of cosmic sounds.

One of the album's highlights, "One For Chuck" features a surprising cameo by Chuck D. The charismatic leader of the legendary hip-hop pioneers Public Enemy happened to stop by the studio while the band was listening to a song they'd just recorded. He liked the music, so the band asked him to record an intro. He obliged, and they dedicated the song to him.

LOS ANGELES - During the Grateful Dead's legendary 30-year run, the band often visited its northern neighbors in Portland, Seattle, and less-than-often Vancouver. Even so, official live recordings from those cities are something of a rarity but that's all set to change soon when Dead.net releases PACIFIC NORTHWEST '73-'74: THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS, a new 19-disc boxed set that features six previously unreleased shows that spotlight two of the band's tours through the region. This also marks the first Grateful Dead live archival boxed set to feature material across multiple years, aside from the 80-disc, career-spanning 30 Trips Around The Sun box.

The concerts in the set include: P.N.E. Coliseum, Vancouver, B.C. (6/22/73); Portland Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR (6/24/73); Seattle Center Arena, Seattle, WA (6/26/73); P.N.E. Coliseum, Vancouver, Canada (5/17/74); Portland Memorial Coliseum, Portland, OR (5/19/74); and Hec Edmundson Pavilion, University of Washington, Seattle, WA (5/21/74). Each show was mastered in HDCD from the original master tapes by Jeffrey Norman at Mockingbird Mastering. The transfers from the masters were transferred and restored by Plangent Processes, further ensuring that this is the best, most authentic that these shows have ever sounded.

"This is a boxed set that's a long time coming. A couple of the shows have come very, very close to being released on their own through the Grateful Dead's archival release programs of the past 20 years, but we always held off in the hopes and expectations that they'd make a better boxed set," says David Lemieux, Grateful Dead archivist and the set's producer.  "The music at each and every one of these six shows is unique, special, inspired, and at times transcendent. The shows contain some of the most famous moments in Grateful Dead live history, including the 'Bird Song' from Vancouver '73, the Portland '74 'Truckin'' jam, and the 47-minute 'Playing In The Band' from Seattle '74. Each of these six shows has a distinct musical personality, and we're excited that you can get to know all of them in their entirety, sounding better than we've ever heard them."

The set is available now for pre-order and will be shipped to arrive on September 7. Production of the set is limited to 15,000 individually numbered copies and available exclusively from dead.net for $189.98. The set will also be available in its entirety as a digital download in Apple Lossless ($119.99) and FLAC 192/24 ($149.99) exclusively at dead.net beginning on September 7.

On the same day, Rhino will release a compilation that highlights some of the best performances from the boxed set. PACIFIC NORTHWEST '73-'74: BELIEVE IT IF YOU NEED IT will be available as a three-CD set ($24.98) and on digital download and streaming services.  The complete Portland Memorial Coliseum show from 5/19/74 will also be released on 180-gram vinyl as a limited edition (7,500 copies) six-LP set ($129.98).

PACIFIC NORTHWEST '73-'74: THE COMPLETE RECORDINGS comes in an ornate box created by Canada's preeminent First Nations artist Roy Henry Vickers. To complement the music, the set also includes a 64-page book with an in-depth essay by Grateful Dead scholar Nicholas G. Meriwether and photos by Richie Pechner.

During the period when the shows were recorded, the Grateful Dead included: Jerry Garcia, Donna Jean Godchaux, Keith Godchaux, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. The recordings of the 1973 shows were made just a few months before the band released its sixth studio album, Wake of the Flood, which was its first without founding member Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, who died in March 1973, and the first on their new Grateful Dead Records label. Along with live staples like "Jack Straw," "Sugaree" and "Brown-Eyed Women," the band also previewed most of its forthcoming album, including "Eyes Of The World," "Row Jimmy," "Here Comes Sunshine," "Stella Blue," and "Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo."

The 1974 shows were recorded just a few weeks before the band released its seventh studio album, From The Mars Hotel. The band once again took the opportunity to preview songs from its upcoming album, with performances of "U.S. Blues," "China Doll" "Loose Lucy," "Money Money," and "Ship of Fools." Another song from the album - "Scarlet Begonias" - was played on its own, three years before it would be linked with "Fire On The Mountain" in 1977.

In addition to mixing newer and older songs at all six shows, the band also slipped in a few rarities along way, like Donna Jean's cover of Loretta Lynn's "You Ain't Woman Enough (To Take My Man)," the George Jones' classic "The Race Is On," and the blues standard "Nobody's Fault But Mine." The collection also features two performances of the entire "Weather Report Suite." Soon after these shows, the song's "Prelude" and "Part I" were dropped for good, leaving behind only the final third of the composition, "Let It Grow," which would continue to be part of the band's live shows until 1995.

For the first time in over 20 years, Nick Mason's solo albums, Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports, Profiles, and White Of The Eye will be available in both CD and vinyl boxed sets. Released on August 31 through Warner Music, these limited edition boxed sets will be available shortly before Mason tours Europe with his acclaimed new band Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets.

Nick Mason is one of the biggest selling artists of all time. A co-founding member of Pink Floyd, he is the only constant member of the group, performing on all of their albums as well as all of their live shows. In May of this year, Nick debuted his new band Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets with four intimate shows in London (Camden Dingwalls on May 20 and The Half Moon in Putney on May 21, 23 and 24) to an incredible reception.

UNATTENDED LUGGAGE is a further celebration of Nick Mason and his undeniably significant contribution to music. The set contains:

Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports - Mason's debut solo album which was originally released in 1981 and saw him collaborate with a variety of different musicians including Robert Wyatt and Carla Bley.

Profiles - A collaboration with 10cc guitarist Rick Fenn, it was Mason's second album outside of Pink Floyd and was released in 1985 as "Mason + Fenn." This is a mainly instrumental album except for tracks "Lie For A Lie," which features vocals from Maggie Reilly and former bandmate David Gilmour and "Israel," sung by UFO keyboardist Danny Peyronel.

White Of The Eye - A soundtrack for a British thriller movie of the same name, Mason once again collaborated with Fenn. Originally released in 1987, in conjunction with the film's release, this is the first time the record has been made available for over 20 years, and the first time it will appear on CD.

Mason says, "These recordings hold a very special place for me in my musical life. 'Fictitious Sports' developed initially from working with Mike Mantler, Carla Bley, and Robert Wyatt on a couple of their projects, and benefited enormously from a whole crew of great musicians that I was introduced to by them at Grog Kill Studios in Woodstock."

"'Profiles' and 'White Of The Eye' were an extension of working with Rick Fenn on some advertising and short documentary film soundtracks, which then developed into something more."
