2013 ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME INDUCTION CEREMONY TO AIR ON HBO ON MAY 18

“Their influence is undeniable…and their legacy is that of a band that stayed true to themselves no matter how uncool they may have seemed to anyone. I think it’s safe to say that Rush are indeed a band that has balls…and they’ve ALWAYS been cool.”

- Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters, inducting Rush into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

With a career that spans almost four decades, and music that continues to inspire and influence new generations of rock bands, Rush has been recognized for their immeasurable impact with their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. To commemorate the honor, Universal Music Enterprises and Atlantic Records today announced that Rush’s back catalog from both labels have been mastered specifically for iTunes, ensuring the delivery of the music to listeners with increased audio fidelity, more closely replicating what the artists, recording engineers, and producers intended and are available exclusively on the iTunes Store worldwide (www.iTunes.com). Fans will have the ability to download all albums in two bundles, individual full albums or simply purchase each song separately. “THE COMPLETE MERCURY YEARS” (UME) and “THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1989-2007” (Atlantic) are available now. HBO will broadcast the 2013 Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, May 18 at 9pm ET/PT.

“THE COMPLETE MERCURY YEARS” includes all twelve Mercury studio albums including Rush’s 1974 self-titled debut; their ground breaking, multi-platinum releases 2112 (1976), and Moving Pictures (1981), which reached No. 3 on The Billboard 200; 1980’s Permanent Waves, which hit Top 5 on The Billboard 200; and their 1985 Top 10 release Power Windows. Also included are their three classic Mercury live albums including the platinum selling releases All The World’s A Stage (1976) and Exit…Stage Left (1981), which reached No. 10 on The Billboard 200; and 1989’s A Show Of Hands.

Atlantic Records has simultaneously released “THE STUDIO ALBUMS 1989-2007,” which features all seven Atlantic studio albums including Counterparts (1993) and Snakes & Arrows (2007), which both reached the Top 5 on The Billboard 200. Their Top 10 release Vapor Trails (2002) is also included and features the remixed versions of “One Little Victory” and “Earthshine” that were originally released on Retrospective III (2009). Rush’s current album Clockwork Angels (Anthem/Roadrunner - 2012) is also available on the iTunes Store.

Rush is currently in the midst of their Clockwork Angels 2013 tour. Sold out shows on the European leg includes their stop at London’s O2 Arena on May 24. Rush will return to resume North American dates through August.

**************************

With more than 40 million records sold worldwide and countless sold-out tours, Rush – Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart – is not only one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history, but remains one of the most popular. The RIAA® has certified Rush for the third most consecutive gold/platinum studio albums by a rock band, topped only by the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Rush’s vast catalog includes such classics as 1974’s self-titled debut, 1976’s 2112, 1981’s MOVING PICTURES, 1996’s TEST FOR ECHO, and 2002’s VAPOR TRAILS. Rush released their 20th studio album, CLOCKWORK ANGELS, in 2012 via Anthem/Roadrunner Records. The highly anticipated collection marks their first studio recording since 2007’s SNAKES & ARROWS, and debuted at #1 in Canada and #2 on the Billboard 200, matching the highest chart debut of the band’s career. In addition to their commercial success, Rush has also been recognized with a number of Juno Awards and multiple Grammy® nominations, including one earlier this year for the acclaimed documentary “Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage.” Enjoying a recent pop culture renaissance, Rush made a rare television appearance - their first in over 30 years - on Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report” and a memorable cameo in the film “I Love You, Man.” Most recently, Rush has been selected for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This year, Canada’s national newspaper The Globe & Mail called Rush “one of the few bands anywhere that just keeps getting better.” A career-chronicling Rolling Stone feature summed up the renowned rock trio’s continuing artistic vitality by observing, “It’s true that Rush doesn’t mean today what it did in ’76 or even ’96. It may mean more.”
