Rhino Presents Oscar-Nominated Composer James Newton Howard’s Thrilling Score
To Highly Anticipated Film About The JFK Assassination from Exclusive Releasing

Album Will Be Available For Digital Download On September 30

LOS ANGELES – Rhino Entertainment will release Oscar-nominated composer James Newton Howard’s dramatic score to Parkland on September 30. This highly anticipated film recounts the chaotic events that occurred in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1963, the day President John F. Kennedy was assassinated and is set for theatrical release on October 4 through Exclusive Media’s US distribution label, Exclusive Releasing.

Parkland is written and directed by award-winning journalist and novelist Peter Landesman, and produced by Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman, Bill Paxton and Exclusive Media’s Nigel Sinclair and Matt Jackson. The ensemble cast includes: James Badge Dale, Zac Efron, Oscar-nominees Jackie Earle Haley and Paul Giamatti, as well as Oscar-winners Marcia Gay Harden and Billy Bob Thornton. The American Film Company also produces and co-finances the film with Exclusive Media.

Based on the book Four Days In November, by renowned author and former prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi, Parkland is an extraordinary new retelling of the JFK assassination. The film takes a closer look at one of the 20th century’s most examined events in a unique new light. It weaves together the perspectives of a handful of ordinary individuals suddenly thrust into extraordinary circumstances, telling the untold true story of the people behind the scenes at this historic event.

Released exclusively as a digital album, PARKLAND ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SCORE will be available on September 30 at all digital retail outlets for a suggested list price of $11.99.

James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Bourne Legacy) composed all of the music featured in the film. With more than 100 films to his credit, Howard is one of the most versatile and respected composers currently working in films. To date, he has received eight Oscar nominations, including six for Best Original Score for his work on Defiance, Michael Clayton, The Village, The Fugitive, The Prince of Tides and My Best Friend’s Wedding. Howard, along with Hans Zimmer, won the 2009 Grammy® Award for the Dark Knight score.

Though his training was classical, Howard maintained an interest in rock and pop music, and it was his early work in the pop arena that allowed him to hone his talents as a musician, arranger, songwriter and producer. He racked up a string of collaborations in the studio with some of pop’s biggest names, including Barbra Streisand; Earth, Wind and Fire; Bob Seger; Rod Stewart; and more. In 1975, he joined pop superstar Elton John’s band on the road and in the studio. In 1986, he conducted the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for John’s “Live in Australia” tour, which later became a platinum-selling album.
