GRAMMY® Award-winning progressive metal trailblazers Dream Theater will unveil their massive new 7LP Box Set, Dream Theater Vol. 1, on September 27, 2024. It notably includes four highly sought-after seminal albums on vinyl, namely Images And Words, Awake, Falling Into Infinity, and Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory. It will be exclusively available on Rhino.com in North America and via select Warner Music Group stores internationally. Limited to only 2,500 copies worldwide, it will be priced at $174.98.

Assembling an essential package, Hugh Syme notably designed brand new slipcase art for Vol. 1. Over the years, fans have gone to great lengths to track down long out-of-print or rare vinyl pressings of these classic releases. Now, Dream Theater presents these albums in one comprehensive set. 

Plus, it paves the way for the release of box sets for Vol. 2 and Vol. 3 in 2025.

Vol. 1 traces Dream Theater’s trajectory throughout the nineties, highlighting the natural evolution of their signature sound in the span of an important decade and their uncanny interplay. Among many accolades, Images And Words [1992] not only reached gold status, but it also claimed a spot on Rolling Stone’s coveted “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All-Time.” Not to mention, it housed signature staples such as “Pull Me Under,” “Another Day,” and “Metropolis – Part 1: “The Miracle and the Sleeper.” Meanwhile, Guitar World placed Awake [1994] at #1 on its “Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994.” They maintained the momentum of this creative run with Falling Into Infinity [1997]. Finally, Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory [1999] has cemented a surefire legacy of its own. In a Rolling Stone poll, audiences overwhelmingly cast votes in favor of Metropolis Pt. 2 as the “Number One All-Time Progressive Rock Album.” Classic Rock chose it as the “15th Greatest Concept Album.” The band celebrated its 20th anniversary by playing the record in its entirety on a sold-out 2019 tour.
